The giant Japanese crab.
One of the first animals you see when entering the Genoa Aquarium is the giant Japanese crab and what a crab!
To tell the truth I'm not entirely sure if it's still there because perhaps it was a temporary themed tank.

The Japanese giant crab (Macrocheira kaempferi Temminck, 1836) is the largest living arthropod.
It is a particularly ancient species of crab, considered a living fossil.
It is the only living species of the genus Macrocheira; other species of the genus have been described only as fossils.
It lives in the depths of the Pacific Ocean (200-300 m below sea level) near Japan. It has an average lifespan of about 100 years.
