St. Peter's Square in Rome seen from above.
Rome seen from the top of St. Peter's dome is something truly incredible and obviously I took advantage of it to take many photos. This, as you can well understand, is St. Peter's Square seen from the dome.

The very famous square, a notable example of Baroque architecture and urban planning, is dedicated to the saint of the same name and is a daily meeting point for thousands of Catholic faithful from all over the world.
The space of the square is made up of two parts: the first is shaped like an inverted trapezium whose longest side corresponds to the façade with specific perspective motivations (to cancel the great distance between the square and the basilica) and the second, larger, oval-shaped part with the Egyptian obelisk in the centre.

Una delle varianti più classiche della focaccia al formaggio di Recco è la focaccia pizzata.
La preparazione è pressoché simile con l’aggiunta di passata di pomodoro.
Ovviamente buonissima!

Si narra che grazie alla possibilità di disporre di olio, formaggetta e farina, cuocendo la pasta ripiena di formaggio su una pietra d’ardesia coperta, venne “inventato” quel prodotto gastronomico che oggi conosciamo come “Focaccia di Recco col Formaggio”.

Roma non ha certo bisogno della mia descrizione tantomeno il Colosseo ne ha… Lasciatemi solo dire che la sera, con una luna quasi piena, fare una passeggiata tra i fori imperiali è sicuramente una delle esperienze che ti ricorderai per sempre!

Fuochi di Recco 2014.
Un classico di fine estate in Riviera sono i fuochi di Recco.
La due giorni richiama sempre molti visitatori anche perché lo spettacolo pirotecnico è veramente al top. nella foto (non un granché) un fuoco artificiale dietro ad alcuni alberi.

Le bande a Monterosso il 6 settembre.
Non si può dire che alle Cinque Terre non manchino le iniziative culturali ed artistiche per far trascorrere a tutti i tipi di turisti serate interessanti. Anche se non è proprio il mio genere ieri sera c’era un bel palco sul mare a Monterosso con musica suonata da diversi gruppi filarmonici (ma non sono in grado di scrivere di più sull’evento).

I hadn't been able to visit Manarola lately. Yesterday, thanks to a beautiful September day, I filled the gap and went to the Cinque Terre to take some more photos.
It may not be the most fascinating of the five but it's still really worth a visit!

Cappuccino

Il cappuccino: la colazione classica dell’italiano medio al bar! Ho già una bella foto di un trancio di focaccia, che qui in Liguria è il “must” da accompagnare al cappuccino, che ovviamente era nella mano destra! Io però preferisco la variante latte macchiato che poi altro non è che la stessa bevanda con più latte!
