Testa di drago in corallo.
Mi erano rimaste ancora un paio di foto scattate ai bellissimi gioielli di corallo ospitate, e vendute, all’interno del 101 di Taipei, in Taiwan.
Questo è il particolare di uno di quelli: la testa di un drago (credo ci fosse anche tutto il corpo nell’opera) scolpita in un blocco di corallo rosso.

Il corallo rosso è l’unica specie del genere Corallium che vive nel Mediterraneo, dalla Grecia e dalla Tunisia fino allo Stretto di Gibilterra, Corsica, Sardegna, Sicilia e Baleari incluse, ma è diffuso anche nell’Atlantico orientale in Portogallo, Canarie, Marocco e Isole di Capo Verde, di solito fino a 200 metri di profondità in luoghi poco illuminati con scarsa vegetazione.
