Uno dei frutti esotici forse meno strani, il lycis (o licis o litchi), è detto anche la ciliegia tropicale.

Il litchi o ciliegia della Cina (Litchi chinensis Sonn.) è una pianta della famiglia Sapindaceae, unica specie del genere Litchi.
È una pianta tropicale e subtropicale originaria della Cina meridionale e del Sud-Est Asiatico, oggi coltivata in molte parti del mondo. Il frutto fresco ha una polpa bianca, delicata e profumata.
