Tra i vari e colorati souvenir della Giordania, non possono mancare le spezie e gli incensi.

Incenso è il nome genericamente attribuito alle oleoresine secrete da diverse piante arbustive del genere Boswellia che crescono nelle regioni meridionali della Penisola Arabica e delle antistanti coste dell’Africa orientale, la più importante delle quali, appartenente al genere Boswellia, è la Boswellia sacra. Una volta raccolte e cristallizzate, sono in grado di liberare nell’aria un forte e penetrante profumo al momento della loro combustione.
