Questa estate la parte finale della passeggiata a mare, lato porto, è stata completata.
Ora si può passeggiare indisturbati, lungo il mare, dalle gallerie di Sant’Anna fino alla diga foranea.
L’ultimo tratto, una passerella sospesa, è in legno.

In passato vi era una forte presenza dell’industria. I cantieri navali nella frazione di Riva sono sorti negli ultimi anni dell’Ottocento, diventando ben presto tra i più importanti d’Italia. Nel secondo dopoguerra, complice la vicinanza al triangolo industriale (Genova-Torino-Milano), Sestri Levante ospitava oltre alla cantieristica navale (e il suo indotto) una delle più grandi acciaierie, la F.I.T. (Fabbrica Italiana Tubi), chiusa nel 1982 durante la crisi del settore, la cui area è stata oggi recuperata a uso commerciale. Successivamente gli investimenti si sono orientati sull’edilizia residenziale.
