Lecce per me e’ stata una sorpresa. Nel centro della citta’ vecchia si trova questo splendido anfiteatro del primo-secondo secolo dopo Cristo.

Ecco dove si trova il teatro:

L’anfiteatro romano, insieme al teatro, è il monumento più espressivo dell’importanza raggiunta da Lupiae, l’antenata romana di Lecce, tra il I e il II secolo d.C.
La datazione del monumento è ancora oggetto di discussione e oscilla tra l’età augustea e quella traiano-adrianea.
