The Primatial Metropolitan Cathedral of the Holy Virgin Mary of the Assumption, known simply as the Cathedral of Palermo, is the main place of Catholic worship in the city of Palermo and the episcopal seat of the metropolitan archdiocese of the same name. Since 3 July 2015 it has been part of the World Heritage (UNESCO) as part of the serial site Arab-Norman Palermo and the cathedrals of Cefalù and Monreale.
