La cittadina è divisa in diversi quartieri, che prendono il nome dagli antichi “sestieri” in cui era divisa la cittadina ai tempi della famiglia Fieschi.
They are: the Borgo district, corresponding to the historic center; the Scafa district, located in the port area and bordering Chiavari; the Moggia district, in the innermost part of the city; the Ripamare district in the eastern area; the Cavi district, which includes the homonymous hamlet of Cavi di Lavagna and the hillside hamlets of Santa Giulia, Sorlana and Barassi.
