Peperoncini secchi a Guadalupe.
Una delle spezie che non manca mai nei mercati, anche quelli caraibici, e’ il peperoncino.
A dire la verita’ alcuni dei piu’ famosi e piccanti al mondo arrivano da questa zona del mondo.
Questo lo vendevano in un mercato di Pointe a Pitre in Guadalupe (lo stesso luogo dove ho scattato la foto dell’anice stellato).

Il peperoncino è il nome comune dato alla bacca ottenuta da alcune varietà piccanti del genere di piante Capsicum e utilizzata come condimento.
Pur provenendo dal medesimo genere del peperone, il peperoncino se ne differenzia poiché contiene la capsaicina, un composto chimico presente in diverse concentrazioni a seconda delle varietà, responsabile della piccantezza della bacca.
