E’ da tanto tempo ormai che ho scattato questa foto e proprio non ero ancora riuscito a pubblicarla.
Questo è un cibo propriamente sudamericano, il cuore ti un certo tipo di palma che viene tagliato a pezzetti e conservato sott’olio o sotto aceto.
L’ho mangiato diverse volte in Brasile anche se la foto è stata scattata al Mercado di Montevideo.

Il palmito o più comunemente cuore di palma è un tipo di alimento ricavato da alcuni tipi di palma, come l’açaì, il babaçu, la juçara, il chontaduro. Queste specie di palme vengono coltivate soprattutto in Sudamerica, Brasile, Ecuador, Paraguay e Argentina, nelle zone paludose e lungo i fiumi tropicali.
