L’Abbazia di San Fruttuoso e la spiaggia.
Cosa c’è di più bello di questo luogo a pochi chilometri da Sestri Levante e da Genova?
Alla fine di una camminata veramente dispendiosa ci si può tuffare in questa piccola insenatura dall’acqua cristallina e dai sassolini delicati.

The abbey is dedicated to Saint Fructuosus of Tarragona, a 3rd century Catalan bishop and saint, whose ashes are preserved in the abbey, where they were supposedly transferred following the Arab invasion of the Iberian Peninsula.
The abbey cannot be reached by any road, but can only be accessed by sea or by following two panoramic paths: one that descends from the Portofino mountain above and the other that runs along the coast starting from the Portofino bay. The abbey overlooks the bathing beach in front.

Una delle chiese più belle del Levante Ligure con la sua bella facciata e il grande sagrato e colonnato.
A dire la verità sarebbe stato bello fotografare da un pochino più lontano ma non temete… Altre foto arriveranno con il tempo.

The collegiate basilica of Santo Stefano is a Catholic place of worship in the municipality of Lavagna, in Piazza Guglielmo Marconi, in the metropolitan city of Genoa. The church is the seat of the parish of the same name of the vicariate of Chiavari-Lavagna of the diocese of Chiavari.

Ormai diverso tempo fa ho scattato questa foto della nostra splendida Sestri Levante.
Il soggetto è sempre uno dei miei preferiti: le vecchie case dei pescatori, colorate di un color pastello acceso, che stanno a pochi metri della riva del mare.

Pho Hanoi in Vietnam

Pho Hanoi in Vietnam.
Una bella e buona zuppa che, come potete intuire dal nome, è quella tipica della città di Hanoi.
Il pho è la zuppa basica che poi, a seconda della città e degli ingredienti, viene chiamato in maniera diversa con l’aggiunta della città.
Buonissima comunque e sempre con il peperoncino aggiunto alla fine.

In generale, la cucina settentrionale non è audace in alcun gusto particolare. La maggior parte dei piatti nord-vietnamiti sono bilanciati nei sapori e risultano da sottili combinazioni di molti diversi ingredienti. L’uso di carni di maiale, manzo e pollo sono limitate in favore di pesce fresco, crostacei e molluschi.

La Torre della Tartaruga ad Hanoi

Torre della Tartaruga ad Hanoi.
Uno dei simboli della capitale del Vietnam è questo lago e la torre che vi è al centro.
Come dice il nome questo lago, secondo la leggenda, era abitato da una tartaruga che durante una insurrezione popolare donò una spada a colui che guidava il popolo.
Grazie alla spada vinse il popolo e dopo qualche anno l’animale richiese la spada indietro.
C’è chi dice che sia ancora sul fondo da qualche parte.

The transparent sea at Punta Chiappa in Liguria

The transparent sea at Punta Chiappa in Liguria.
Probably the most famous promontory in the whole of Liguria. It separates Camogli from Portofino.
The water has an almost indescribable color and don't tell me that in other parts of the world, perhaps exotic, it is more beautiful.
This photo was taken at the end of last summer, in September, and I managed to shoot (thanks to the telephoto lens) more or less from the Batterie location.
This location is the point where the anti-aircraft and anti-ship guns that protected the coast during the Second World War were located.

Punta Chiappa is a small strip of rock (conglomerate of Monte di Portofino) that juts out into the sea from the western side of Portofino promontory.
It is part of the Municipality of Camogli, the Portofino Park and the Marine Protected Area.

A classic orange tea in Vietnam

A classic orange tea in Vietnam.
A good iced tea this time, instead of lemon, flavored with orange.
I had tasted it in a typical bar in Da Nang, the Bar Cong; the peculiarity was that all the waiters and all the servants wore camouflage clothes that the whole place, sparsely decorated, almost recreated a barracks during the war.
The tea was not bad anyway!

La Chiesa di Santa Maria di Nazaret

La Chiesa di Santa Maria di Nazaret.
La basilica è una delle chiese più antiche ed importanti di Sestri Levante.
Con il suo bianco inconfondibile si trova proprio nel punto dove l’isola di Sestri è mutata diventando una penisola.

Già nel 1368 è attestata la presenza di una piccola cappella intitolata a santa Maria di Nazareth, ma sarà nel corso del 1604 che, a seguito della cessione di un appezzamento da parte del nobile locale Bernardo Bolasco, verranno intrapresi i lavori per l’edificazione di un nuovo edificio di culto.

Sestri Levante vista dalle Mimose

Sestri Levante vista dalle Mimose.
Una delle più belle vedute di Sestri la si ha dall’alto delle Mimose (da via Lombardia).
Questa foto l’ho scattata qualche mese fa ormai, tra un giorno di pioggia e l’altro mi ero riuscito a ritagliare un pomeriggio con il cane da quelle parti.
Sempre una bella passeggiata e, soprattutto, una bella vista.
