Uno scorcio di Verezzi, il famoso borgo ligure.
Dopo diverso tempo che mi ero ripromesso di visitare qualche cittadina del Ponente ligure finalmente qualche tempo fa sono riuscito ad organizzare una domenica.
Oltre a Finale Ligure, con gli amici, siamo stati a vedere il piccolo borgo di Verezzi (che assieme a Borgio creano il famoso paese); le sue stradine strette, chiuse tra le case in pietra e il mare a poca distanza.
Ora capisco come mai in molti lo ritengano uno dei borghi più belli d’Italia.

The municipal territory is made up of the two hamlets of Borgio (municipal seat) and Verezzi and the Verezzi nuclei of Crosa, Piazza, Poggio and Roccaro for a territorial surface of 2.73 km².
It borders to the north with the municipalities of Tovo San Giacomo and Finale Ligure, to the south with the Ligurian Sea, to the west with Pietra Ligure, to the east with Finale Ligure.

La Colonia Fara, restaurata, a Chiavari.
Da qualche mese la Colonia Fara, fa bella mostra di se nella nuova passeggiata a mare di Preli.
Erano molti anni che la zona era degradata e la ristrutturazione ha dato nuovo slancio a questa parte della bella Chiavari forse poco conosciuta dai turisti (che di solito si gettano tra i carruggi del centro).

La struttura, intitolata alla memoria del generale Gustavo Fara, fu commissionata dal Partito Nazionale Fascista nel 1935 come luogo e soggiorno di villeggiatura marinaro per bambini, da utilizzarsi prevalentemente nel periodo estivo. L’edificio, esempio di razionalismo italiano, fu progettato da Camillo Nardi Greco e Lorenzo Castello e fu costruito tra il 1935 e il 1936.

The splendid caves of Borgio Verezzi in Liguria.
When, last summer, I was with my friends on a trip to Borgio Verezzi and the idea of visiting the famous caves came to mind, we never imagined that they were so spectacular.

The tourist route of the caves is about 800 m. They present very varied environments with limestone forms that arouse curiosity, including, for example, some "crooked" stalactites that seem to go against gravity, even if, in reality, it is the cave that has moved over the millennia.

Ragù is a condiment made from chopped or minced meat, cooked for many hours over low heat, with varying aromas depending on the local variant, and usually with the addition of tomato. The most popular ragùs in Italy are Bolognese and Neapolitan ragù.

Chiavari e il suo porto visti da Sestri Levante

Chiavari e il suo porto visti da Sestri Levante.
Nelle giornate invernali di bel tempo si riesce quasi sempre ad arrivare con l’occhio elettronico dei teleobiettivi molto distante.
Le immagini, come questa, magari non sono proprio nitidissime ma il risultato è comunque originale.
In questa, realizzata direttamente dalla passeggiata a mare della mia Sestri Levante, si vede in primis la fitta rete di alberi e pennoni delle barche ormeggiate nel porticciolo chiavarese e, alle sue spalle, l’alto ed inconfondibile palazzo conosciuto da tutti come la Colonia Fara.

La Baia delle Favole di Sestri Levante in Liguria

La Baia delle Favole di Sestri Levante in Liguria.
Non è famosa come la Baia del Silenzio ma vista dalle Rocche di Sant’Anna è veramente spettacolare anche la Baia delle Favole.
Questa foto, scattata ormai diverso tempo fa, mi piace molto!

Un ottimo piatto della cucina ligure fatto con ingredienti semplici: patate e fagiolini.
In effetti si dovrebbe chiamare più torta salata che polpettone.

In alcune regioni d’Italia, il termine “polpettone” viene usato anche per indicare un tipo di torta di verdure ricoperta non dalla pasta sfoglia ma dal pan grattato, come – ad esempio – il Polpettone di fagiolini, tipico della Liguria.

The small beach of Quinto al Mare in Genoa
There aren't really many beaches in Genoa and here, even if you can't see it very well in the photo, the one at Quinto al Mare begins.
To tell the truth, you can see much more of the little promenade on Via al Mare and the little finance house (or customs house or former guardhouse of the Health Commissioner's Office) which was right on the rocks.

Da qualche parte nei vicoli di Genova

Da qualche parte nei vicoli di Genova.
L’incontro di tre vicoli del centro storico: via San Luca (il vicolo da cui provengo e che ho alle spalle), via San Siro a destra e via di Fossatello che prosegue.
Un bel palazzo al centro dell’incrocio che non è una piazza (o comunque non sono riuscito a trovarne il nome).
Anche questa è Genova, Zena, e probabilmente è la più vera.

Piazza dei Pescatori a Chiavari

Piazza dei Pescatori a Chiavari.
Anche se il toponimo corretto è piazza Gagliardo da tutti è conosciuta come piazza dei Pescatori.
Era il termine della passeggiata a mare di Chiavari, lato Ponente, ma ora che la nuova passeggiata di Preli (quella dalla Colonia Fare per intenderci) è stata ristrutturata ora è un luogo di passaggio.
La nuova indicazione poi di rendere la piazza e la strada totalmente pedonale ha poi ancora migliorato la piazzetta!
