Via Quarto a Genova.
Ormai la via principale che passa da Quarto dei Mille, storico quartiere del Levante genovese, passa a ridosso del mare ma una volta era più a monte.
E collegava questo borgo, che distava esattamente 4 miglia da Genova (appunto 4° miglio), che una volta era un comune a parte.
Questa lapide con il nome della via su uno dei tanti ponti della ferrovia che passa vicino al mare.

[ENG] Via Quarto in Genoa.Affacciato sul mar Ligure, è compreso tra i quartieri Sturla, Apparizione e Quinto. In origine la denominazione ufficiale era Quarto al Mare, il nome fu poi variato nel 1911 in onore della spedizione dei Mille che ebbe inizio partendo da questa località.

Now the main street that passes through Quarto dei Mille, the historic district of the Genoese Levant, passes close to the sea but was once further upstream.
And it connected this village, which was exactly 4 miles from Genoa (in fact the 4th mile), which was once a separate municipality.
This plaque with the name of the street on one of the many railway bridges that passes by the sea.
