An area of ​​Genoa unknown to me that I discovered on this trip, several months ago, is the one that from the Ponte di Carignano goes up towards via del Colle and then turns into via della Fava Greca.

These 12th century walls started from the church of Santa Croce, the church of the Lucchesi community in Genoa at the time, as shown in a document from 1128, which was located near Sarzano, next to the Castle. The circuit of the walls left out the seaward side of the Sarzano hill, which, due to its sheer drop to the sea, did not require further fortifications.
