Una delle piante che fanno parte della macchia mediterranea, forse più diffuse lungo la costa ligure dove abito io, è la ginestra.
Verso maggio poi, quando fiorisce, regala un colpo d’occhio meraviglioso con i suoi fiori gialli e molto profumati.

Specie nativa dell’area del Mediterraneo, dal sud dell’Europa, al Nord Africa al Medio Oriente.
Risulta endemica in gran parte dell’areale del bacino del Mediterraneo. Cresce in zone soleggiate da 0 a 1200 m s.l.m..
