The copper-green waters of the Libiola mines.
Just behind Sestri Levante, in the Villa Libiola area, you can still see the remains of the ancient (perhaps very ancient, I read that it was even over 3000 years ago) copper mines.
There is a beautiful path that starts right from that location and that for the first few kilometers of the climb passes right through the former mining area.
To continue the walk you cross this stream (which in many parts of the year is just a trickle of water) which is a pastel green-blue color precisely because it is full of copper oxide.

Along the path I took several photos, which if you want, are here:
Libiola is a historical hamlet of the Italian municipality of Sestri Levante, in Liguria. Well known for the presence of copper mines where they worked until 1961/62, known since prehistoric times and exploited intensely since the Roman era.

I took a lot of photos in the town of Sestri Levante and you can find almost all of them here or by searching in the various articles specific to the Ligurian city.
I refer you to the very well-kept and always updated website for the tourist promotion of my Sestri Levante: sestri-levante.net. This is the official website of the town's municipality: comune.sestri-levante.ge.it.
