The Luigi Ferraris stadium in Genoa seen from above.
Every time I park on the hills of Genoa I always look for the football stadium where my Sampdoria plays.
It is a place very familiar to me because for many years, work permitting, I have frequented it regularly.
That orange color and those towers, the structure nestled between the apartment blocks of the Marassi district and the Bisagno.
A unique structure in Italy!

The Luigi Ferraris municipal stadium is an Italian sports facility located in Genoa. Sometimes also called Marassi, the name of the Genoese district where it is located, it is the oldest stadium in Italy among those still in use, having been inaugurated in 1911.

Il bel mosaico dorato della facciata e le tre statue che ne addobbano il tetto.

Internamente la chiesa è costituita da un’unica navata con presbiterio, coro, un altare maggiore marmoreo e quattro laterali. Nel 1938 si rinnovò la seicentesca facciata in stile barocco genovese.

The entrance to the cemetery of Nostra Signora del Monte in Genoa.
Some time ago, with my friends, we went for a tour (one of the many that we sometimes enjoy doing) to discover Genoa.
This time, starting from the Brignole train station, we headed towards Levante.
We then passed through the San Fruttuoso neighborhood and then decided to go up through the Villa Imperiale park and reach the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Monte, located on the hill overlooking the San Fruttuoso and Marassi neighborhoods.
From there we continued along the mule track to the Quezzi neighborhood and, a few meters from the sanctuary, we came across the cemetery of the religious complex of which I photographed the entrance (behind the gate).

Portofino vista dall’alto

Portofino vista dall’alto.
Qualche mese fa ho percorso il bellissimo (e piuttosto lungo) sentiero che parte da Santa Margherita Ligure e che, passando dal Monte di Portofino, raggiunge San Fruttuoso di Camogli e poi ritorna nella splendida Portofino.
Quando si sta per arrivare nel borgo ci sono un paio di punti veramente spettacolari per fotografare il bel borgo marinaro famoso in tutto il mondo.

Nel 1175 il piccolo borgo marinaro fu sottoposto al controllo amministrativo, assieme all’attigua Santa Margherita Ligure, del libero comune di Rapallo, che acquistò i diritti sul borgo per 70 lire genovesi per conto dei consoli rapallesi.

Sestri Levante ed il Golfo del Tigullio

Sestri Levante ed il Golfo del Tigullio.
Un classico delle foto paesaggistiche della zona in cui abito è scattare dalla cima della salita del sentiero che va sulla Mandrella.
Lungo la strada infatti ci sono un paio di punti, molto classici, da dove si vede bene la penisola sestrese, l’istmo che la congiunge alla terraferma e che crea le due baie: la Baia del Silenzio e la Baia delle Favole.

I really like the red color of the cycle path on the seafront promenade of Sestri Levante to photograph.
In this case it is the stretch that passes in front of the Nettuno hotel, that beautiful building you see in the background.

Alla ricerca dei pochi funghi quest’anno

Alla ricerca dei pochi funghi quest’anno.
Quest’anno ero finalmente a casa nel periodo dei funghi (di solito fine settembre e prima metà di ottobre dalle mie parti) ma a causa delle condizioni meteo poco favorevoli la finestra è stata molto breve quest’anno e io sono riuscito solamente a trovarne una manciata nell’unico giorno in cui sono andato alla ricerca.
Un paio di settimane fa, infatti, è piovuto un paio di giorni ed in quelli successivi qualcosa è nato. Scrivo qualcosa perché poco dopo è arrivata la tramontana e ne ha fermato la nascita, purtroppo.
Qualcuno comunque l’ho trovato e vi ho fatto qualche bella foto di questi bei porcini anche perché a me non piacciono da mangiare: a me piace solamente andare per boschi a cercarli!

Porcino è il nome comune di alcune specie di funghi del genere Boletus, spesso attribuito, anche come denominazione merceologica, a quattro specie di boleti (la sezione Edules del genere Boletus) facenti capo al Boletus edulis e aventi caratteristiche morfologiche e organolettiche vagamente simili.

Particolari del Portale del Battistero di Firenze

Particolari del Portale del Battistero di Firenze.
Passeggiando per Firenze non si può non fare un passo a vedere la facciata del suo splendido duomo (Santa Maria del Fiore) e del suo battistero.
Questa volta mi sono soffermato su qualche particolare di uno dei tre portali d’ingresso del battistero di San Giovanni ed esattamente di quello che viene chiamato Porta del Paradiso (Est) di Lorenzo Ghiberti

La porta è suddivisa in 10 ampi riquadri rettangolari, disposti su cinque file, ciascuno dei quali, con le incorniciature ornate da tondi con teste di profeti, occupa l’intera larghezza di un battente. I riquadri presentano scene dell’Antico Testamento, che si susseguono su entrambi i battenti da sinistra a destra e dall’alto in basso.

San Frediano and the Cartasia Biennale

La Basilica di San Frediano e la Biennale Cartasia a Lucca

The Basilica of San Frediano and the Cartasia Biennale in Lucca.
A month ago I was in beautiful Lucca, the Tuscan town surrounded by beautiful walls.
It's a convenient destination for me because I can get there in just over an hour and a half by car.
Wandering around the city, photographing the squares, streets and churches, you never get tired.
When the visit is organized (coincidentally) in the period in which there are the artistic installations of the Biennale Cartasia the photos are even more special.
As in this photo, the beautiful facade of the Basilica of San Frediano is the backdrop to one of these works, which I remind you, are all made of paper and cardboard.

Dream Sea: Monterosso al Mare
The sea bathing season is now over (even though not so many weeks have passed since my last dive) but I once again had these two beautiful photos under my hands that I took, now more than a year ago in one of the Cinque Terre: Monterosso.
The peculiarity of these photos is that, since they were taken with the Gopro, the observation point is inside the sea… and what a sea!
