The second skyscraper in Lavagna. This in the photo is the second skyscraper in the city of Lavagna (I photographed the first one here). This one is not in the center and is a little more bare aesthetically; still very tall though. In the photo you can also notice the monumental cemetery of Lavagna and, in the distance, the grandstand of the Entella stadium in Chiavari.

The ancient toponym of Moneglia (ad Monilia) appears in the Tavola Peutingeriana, a copy of the military map of the Roman Empire (11th – 12th century) preserved in the Austrian National Library in Vienna, discovered by the antiquarian of Augsburg, Corrado Peutinger, in the sixteenth century.

Tellaro is the easternmost hamlet of the municipality of Lerici, in the province of La Spezia. It has been reviewed as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The town is a small seaside village, perched on a cliff overlooking the Gulf of La Spezia. A destination for many Italian and foreign artists, Mario Soldati found a home here during the long years of his old age.

The architrave sculpted by Biduino of the church of San Salvatore in Lucca. Walking through the streets of the Tuscan city of Lucca you come across something beautiful at almost every corner. Like this sculpted architrave that is on the facade of the ancient church (dating back to the year 1000) dedicated to San Salvatore.

Biduino was an Italian sculptor, an exponent of the Pisan Romanesque style, active in the period 1173-1194. Attentive to the study of Roman and late-ancient sculpture, especially sarcophagi, he re-proposed crowded compositions in narrative continuity, elongating the bodies of the figures according to a still Byzantine vision or denouncing analogies with Provençal works. Arriving in the seaside village of Boccadasse in Genoa. To get down to the famous little beach of the seaside village of Boccadasse, to the east of Genoa, there are several streets and creuze. This is the road for vehicles but it is no less beautiful than one of the pedestrian-only creuze. Here in fact there is this beautiful straight street with all the colorful houses on display.

The view of all of Florence from Piazzale Michelangelo. There is no better place to see (and photograph) the splendid city of Florence than Piazzale Michelangelo. From here you can see almost everything: the Duomo of Santa Maria del Fiore, Palazzo Vecchio, the Basilica of Santa Croce di Firenze and Ponte Vecchio.

Piazzale Michelangelo in Florence is the most famous observation point of the city panorama, reproduced in countless postcards and an obligatory destination for tourists visiting the city. It was built in 1869 based on a design by the architect Giuseppe Poggi on a hill just south of the historic center, to complete the redevelopment work on the left bank of the Arno. The mysterious megalithic face of Borzone in Liguria. For a long time I had been meaning to go and see this prehistoric monument which is not far from where I live (Sestri Levante). With a friend, a few months ago now, we seized the opportunity and on a sunny Saturday afternoon in November we went to see the splendid Borzone Abbey and from there, following the short path (about 6 kilometres there and back) indicated, you reach the beautiful monolith. I took several photos but I tell you: the images do not do as well as the real thing.

If you want to learn more about the history of the face, I invite you to go to this page: abbaziaborzone.it.
Here's where the face is:
Given the lack of systematic studies on the find, its dating is still the subject of various hypotheses. The first ones date it back to between the Upper Paleolithic (between 20,000 and 12,000 years ago) and the Neolithic (between 10,000 and 3,500 years ago), in the wake of anthropomorphic menhirs such as those of Carnac.
