L’albergo dei Poveri di Genova.
Quando frequentavo giurisprudenza ogni tanto qualche lezione si svolgeva in questo palazzone, alle spalle dell’università, che era a metà diroccato e metà in ristrutturazione e forse un terzo ristrutturato.
Quando ho scattato queste foto stavo passeggiando alle spalle del complesso e si notano bene ancora gli orti (forse sono più piccoli vivai) che riempiono le piane sottostanti a corso Firenze.

La sua prima edificazione si ebbe nel 1652 per volere di Emanuele Brignole che, assieme a Oberto Della Torre, fu scelto dalla Repubblica di Genova per seguire la costruzione di un nuovo ricovero o rifugio ove ospitare i poveri della città.
