La crociera è coperta dalla cupola ottagonale, con lanterna solo all’esterno; nel tamburo, esternamente movimentato da un loggiato con trifore, si aprono otto rosoni circolari, uno per lato, frutto dell’ampliamento cinquecentesco dei precedenti, di origine romanica.
