The portico that houses the Rialto Market in Venice.
The Loggia of the Rialto Market, which in this photo did not house the stalls that sell goods because it was already late afternoon, is one of the popular symbols of the lagoon city.
I can imagine how many people crowded it in past centuries and probably filled the entire volume with words and shouts!
It is located not far from the Venetian bridge of the same name.

Anche se la Loggia del Mercato di Rialto risale solo al 1907, quando Domenico Rupolo, architetto, fu incaricato di realizzarla.
Lo stile neo-gotico della loggia è in perfetta armonia con gli edifici circostanti e i capitelli delle colonne sono stati scolpiti sulla base dei disegni fatti dal pittore Cesare Laurenti.
