Uno dei punti migliori per fotografare Chiavai è dal Santuario delle Grazie (sulla strada per Rapallo).
A dire la verità ci ero stato un’altra volta e gli alberi non permettevano la vista che, come potete vedere, è splendida da lì.

The territory of La Spezia was already inhabited in prehistoric times, as evidenced by the numerous stele statues and the finds from the Bronze and Iron Ages found on various occasions on the heights of the Gulf and the adjacent valleys. Later, in historical times, the territory saw the settlement of the Ligurian populations, subdued in 155 BC by the consul Marco Claudio Marcello.

This, enjoyed in the always excellent Trattoria Corrieri in the center of Parma.

Parma ham is a typical cured meat from the province of Parma; more precisely, the production area is located 5 km south of the Via Emilia, up to an altitude of no more than 900 m, bordered to the east by the Enza torrent and to the west by the Stirone torrent. It is famous throughout the world and is distinguished not only by its nutritional characteristics (the only ingredients are pork and salt, without additives or preservatives) but also by the “crown”, the brand that is branded only on the original.

The beautiful medieval gate called Porta Ticinese.
Visiting the city of Milan we came across the Colonne di San Lorenzo and the street that leads to the city centre, Corso di Porta Ticinese, passes under this large medieval gate.

Also known as Gate Cicca, since it was the only city gate to have a single opening, it was heavily remodeled in 1861 by Camillo Boito, who opened the two lateral arches, giving it its current appearance.

La bella piazza Campopisano nel centro storico di Genova.
Molte volte mi sono ripromesso di andare a vedere questa bella piazzetta nei vicoli di Genova ma, il piu’ delle volte, quando sono stato a zonzo per i vicoli me ne sono sempre dimentico.
Fino a qualche mese fa quando con mia moglie abbiamo deciso di cercare la piazza e visitarla finalmente.
Un luogo che merita sicuramente una visita!

La zona, citata inizialmente come “Campus Sarzanni” poiché situata in prossimità della piazza di Sarzano, sarebbe stata ribattezzata con l’appellativo di Campo Pisano dopo la vittoria riportata dalla flotta genovese sui pisani nella battaglia della Meloria (1284); infatti, secondo la tradizione in questo luogo, all’epoca appena fuori dalle mura, sarebbero stati confinati migliaia di prigionieri pisani, la maggior parte dei quali, morti di fame e di stenti, sarebbero stati sepolti in quello stesso luogo.

Le gallerie di Sant’Anna tra Sestri Levante e Lavagna.
Una foto scattata già diverso tempo fa delle gallerie che proteggono la via Aurelia nel passaggio sottostante alle Rocche di Sant’Anna.
Da quando ne abbia ricordo ci sono sempre dei lavori di manutenzione ordinaria e straordinaria.
La roccia e’ molto franosa ed il mare, quando e’ arrabbiato, arriva a lambire la strada.

L’Altare Maggiore della Basilica di Santa Croce a Firenze.
Nella chiesa forse piu’ ricca di opere d’arte di Firenze vi voglio segnalare il bellissimo altare della Cappella Maggiore.
Questa è la vera arte che si trova solamente in Italia.

The designs for the stained glass windows are also by Agnolo Gaddi, except for the highest oculi, which are older. The painted cross is by the Maestro di Figline, while the polyptych of the high altar is the result of a recomposition: the Madonna in the center is by Niccolò Gerini, while the Doctors of the Church are by Giovanni del Biondo and another unknown painter.

The ancient toponym of Moneglia (ad Monilia) appears in the Tavola Peutingeriana, a copy of the military map of the Roman Empire (11th – 12th century) preserved in the Austrian National Library in Vienna, discovered by the antiquarian of Augsburg, Corrado Peutinger, in the sixteenth century.
