Here is where the monument is located:
The Christopher Columbus Monument (monument a Colom in Catalan) is a statue in honour of Christopher Columbus (Cristòfor Colom in Catalan) located at the end of La Rambla in front of the port of Barcelona. The monument, 60 metres high, is one of the most famous in the city and in Spain as a whole and was built on the initiative of the merchant Antoni Fages I Ferrer in honour of the great Genoese navigator, to commemorate when, returning from the New World, Columbus visited Isabella of Castile and Ferdinand II of Aragon. It is located in the Portal de la Pau square (Portal of Peace), the point of union between the lower end of the Ramblas and the Passeig de Colom (Columbus Promenade) in front of the port.
