Walking along the splendid Via Garibaldi, perhaps the most beautiful street in Genoa, several alleys start off that lead down to the most hidden alleys of the historic center.
One of them is this one that starts right in front of Palazzo Doria Tursi.

In Via Garibaldi in front of the Palazzo del Comune of Genoa is the vico del Duca. The caruggio is called this way precisely because of the name of the palace of the Duke of Tursi, seat of the first citizen of Genoa. Tursi is a town in Basilicata that was granted as a fief in 1552 to Admiral Andrea Doria as a marquisate (later duchy) by Emperor Charles V.

Il centro di Genova è una scoperta continua. Anche io ogni volta che vado a fare un giro trovo sempre qualcosa di nuovo da conoscere! Sinceramente questo vicolo proprio non l’ho mai notato!
