Il centro del Borgorotondo di Varese Ligure.
Dall’ultima volta che sono stato nel bel borgo di varese Ligure avanzo ancora una splendida immagine delle case e dei portici che si affacciano sulla piazzetta centrale (piazza Fieschi) da cui la cittadina prende il nome di borgo Rotondo.

Commissioned by the Fieschi family for the control and defence of the Varese area, it is made up of identical stone houses arranged along the perimeter which, with an elliptical shape, enclose the two main squares (Piazza Fieschi and Piazza Castello), where the commercial activities, warehouses and laboratories were located in the porticoes below.

The ancient toponym of Moneglia (ad Monilia) appears in the Tavola Peutingeriana, a copy of the military map of the Roman Empire (11th – 12th century) preserved in the Austrian National Library in Vienna, discovered by the antiquarian of Augsburg, Corrado Peutinger, in the sixteenth century.

Il porticciolo di Tellaro, vicino a La Spezia.
Qualche tempo fa, ormai, ho passato una domenica nel Golfo dei Poeti quello splendido tratto di costa ligure di Levante al confine con la Toscana.
Molti sono i borghi e le località veramente splendide che ho visitato e questo è il porticciolo di Tellaro, uno dei borghi più belli!

Tellaro is the easternmost hamlet of the municipality of Lerici, in the province of La Spezia. It has been reviewed as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
The town is a small seaside village, perched on a cliff overlooking the Gulf of La Spezia. A destination for many Italian and foreign artists, Mario Soldati found a home here during the long years of his old age.

La splendida San Fruttuoso di Camogli

La splendida San Fruttuoso di Camogli.
Non finisco mai di strabuzzare gli occhi tutte le volte che mi trovo davanti una delle foto che ho scattato in una delle mie gite a San Fruttuoso.
Al momento ho già raggiunto la splendida Abbazia sia da Camogli (sentiero delle catene) sia da Santa Margherita Ligure (dal monte di Portofino) ed entrambi i sentieri sono stati molto impegnativi e lunghi ma, allo stesso tempo, mi hanno regalato decine di scatti nella natura.

L’abbazia è dedicata a san Fruttuoso di Tarragona, vescovo e santo catalano del III secolo, le cui ceneri sono conservate presso l’abbazia, dove sarebbero state traslate a seguito dell’invasione araba della Penisola Iberica.
L’abbazia non è raggiungibile da alcuna arteria stradale, ma vi si può accedere soltanto via mare oppure percorrendo due panoramici sentieri: uno che scende dal soprastante monte di Portofino e l’altro che percorre la costa partendo dalla baia di Portofino. L’abbazia prospetta sull’antistante spiaggia balneabile.

Il palazzo del Tribunale di questo borgo era dove veniva amministrata la giustizia sotto il dominio dei Marchesi del Carretto.
Splendido esempio di architettura signorile come del resto tutta la cittadina finalese.

A very pretty village in the Levante Ligure (the last municipality in the province of Genoa) is Moneglia.
Frequented by many summer tourists, who have their second home here, it has a beautiful (although small) beach protected by a couple of rock dams parallel to the coast.
The photo was taken from the path that connects the village with Riva Trigoso passing through Punta Baffe.

The church of Sant’Anna in Valletti.
Several months ago now (and you can see it from the snow) I was in this small town (perhaps calling it a town is even too much) called Valletti, in the municipality of Varese Ligure, where one of my friends has a house.
Walking along the road we arrived at the church of Sant’Anna which I photographed and filmed with the drone.
It was really very cold and there was also a persistent and icy wind so I wasn’t able to take many more shots than the one I’m posting below.
