Ormai sono stato nel borgo, in provincia della Spezia, molto tempo fa ma ancora ne ho un ottimo ricordo e, soprattutto, moltissime foto!

Tellaro is the easternmost hamlet of the municipality of Lerici, in the province of La Spezia. It has been reviewed as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
The town is a small seaside village, perched on a cliff overlooking the Gulf of La Spezia. A destination for many Italian and foreign artists, Mario Soldati found a home here during the long years of his old age.

Here's where the town is located:

Borgo Rotondo in the historic center of Varese. Commissioned by the Fieschi family for the control and defense of the Varese territory, it is made up of identical stone houses arranged along the perimeter which, with an elliptical shape, enclose the two main squares (Piazza Fieschi and Piazza Castello), where the commercial activities, warehouses and laboratories were located in the underlying porticoes.

Moneglia beach seen from the Punta Baffe path.
A very pretty village in the Levante Ligure (the last municipality in the province of Genoa) is Moneglia.
Frequented by many summer tourists, who have their second home here, it has a beautiful (although small) beach protected by a couple of rock dams parallel to the coast.
The photo was taken from the path that connects the village with Riva Trigoso passing through Punta Baffe.

The ancient toponym of Moneglia (ad Monilia) appears in the Tavola Peutingeriana, a copy of the military map of the Roman Empire (11th – 12th century) preserved in the Austrian National Library in Vienna, discovered by the antiquarian of Augsburg, Corrado Peutinger, in the sixteenth century.

The church of Sant’Anna in Valletti.
Several months ago now (and you can see it from the snow) I was in this small town (perhaps calling it a town is even too much) called Valletti, in the municipality of Varese Ligure, where one of my friends has a house.
Walking along the road we arrived at the church of Sant’Anna which I photographed and filmed with the drone.
It was really very cold and there was also a persistent and icy wind so I wasn’t able to take many more shots than the one I’m posting below.

La neve a Centocroci lo scorso inverno.
Lo scorso inverno, dopo moltissimo tempo, ero stato a fare due passi sulla neve.
Complice una bella nevicata siamo stati (con alcuni amici) fino al passo di Centocroci vicino a Varese Ligure.
Moltissima neve e foto con il bianco come protagonista!

Il passo di Centocroci (Sentu Cruxe in ligure), è un valico posto alla quota di 1055 metri sul livello del mare che separa la Val di Vara dall’Emilia, aprendosi sul crinale alcuni chilometri a nordovest del monte Gottero, nell’Appennino ligure.

Un vicolo di Moneglia.
In Liguria ci sono moltissimi borghi marinari, e non solo, che nascondono scorci di una bellezza unica.
In questo scatto, per esempio, ero a Moneglia l’ultimo comune a Levante della provincia di Genova.
Questo bel vicolo con i tipici archi che vanno da una casa all’altra sono proprio tipici dell’architettura ligure.

Vicolo di Varese Ligure.
Un bello scorcio di Varese Ligure nella parte a Ponente del Torrente Crovana.
Non sono sicurissimo ma credo che questa parte del borgo sia chiamata il quartiere Grecino, come il ponte che lo collega con il centro della cittadina.

Il borgo di San Terenzo visto da Lerici.
A pochi passi dal più famoso borgo di Lerici c’è l’altrettanto splendido San Terenzo.
Io purtroppo non sono riuscito ad andare a visitarlo e a scattare qualche foto perché il programma della giornata ci ha portato altrove ma qualche scatto l’ho realizzato.
I colori sono un poco strani in realtà perché pioveva ed ero un pochino lontano!

Del borgo di San Terenzo si hanno notizie già nel Medioevo: borgo di pescatori e marinai, era dedito anche ai traffici del vino e dell’olio e vi aveva sede, fra l’altro, un ospitale; il nome era Portiolo (probabilmente significava “porto dell’olio” oppure piccolo porto).

Il castello di Lerici

Il castello di Lerici.
Il forte del 1100 che domina il borgo di Lerici e la sua baia.
E’ un edificio molto imponente e, per salire sull’altura che lo ospita, si attraversano le strette e ripide cerusse della parte antica del borgo dello spezzino.

Il castello fu costruito a partire dal 1152 e subì numerose trasformazioni ad opera delle repubbliche marinare di Genova e Pisa che per la sua posizione strategica se ne contendevano il possesso. Con l’ultima modifica del 1555 il castello finì con l’assumere l’aspetto attuale quando, per volere del genovese Offizio di San Giorgio vennero completati i lavori.
