Uno scorcio di Varese Ligure.
Un bell’angolo del borgo di Varese detto “Rotondo” per la sua piazzetta con le case disposte in maniera circolare attorno al centro.

Borgo Rotondo in the historic center of Varese. Commissioned by the Fieschi family for the control and defense of the Varese territory, it is made up of identical stone houses arranged along the perimeter which, with an elliptical shape, enclose the two main squares (Piazza Fieschi and Piazza Castello), where the commercial activities, warehouses and laboratories were located in the underlying porticoes.

Un altro bello scorcio dell’altrettanto bella Finalborgo!
Ad essere sinceri i colori (che pure ho leggermente accentuato con l’hdr) sono uno dei vanti di questo borgo del savonese ligure.

The ancient bridge over the Crovana torrent in Varese Ligure.
The Grecino bridge, which since the 16th century has made it possible to cross the Crovana torrent (a tributary of the Vara) to connect the very small neighborhood called Grecino (Grexino) with the city center.

Uno scorcio tra i vicoli di Tellaro

Uno scorcio tra i vicoli di Tellaro.
Pur essendo un piccolo borgo, Tellaro, ha un piccolo dedalo di vicoli e creuze ripide che lo attraversano.
E’ un piacere, anche se la giornata era un poco piovosa, perdersi in questo piccolo labirinto di colori così tipico della mia Liguria.

Tellaro is the easternmost hamlet of the municipality of Lerici, in the province of La Spezia. It has been reviewed as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
The town is a small seaside village, perched on a cliff overlooking the Gulf of La Spezia. A destination for many Italian and foreign artists, Mario Soldati found a home here during the long years of his old age.

La vista sui tetti di Lerici

La vista sui tetti di Lerici.
Salendo al Castello che domina questo borgo spezzino si possono godere vedute splendide sulle case e i tetti di questa cittadina.
Le case, tutte molto attaccate, sembrano quasi un unico edificio; solo i colori ne svelano le differenze.

It was with the Republic of Genoa that Lerici began to assume a more important role.
After having purchased Porto Venere and made it a strategic base for the control of the gulf of La Spezia, Genoa also came into possession of Lerici, negotiating with the Lords of Vezzano and Arcola, who were the feudal lords of the locality.

Il panorama di Ponente del Golfo del Tigullio

Il panorama di Ponente del Golfo del Tigullio.
Una bella vista sul Tigullio di Ponente (tra Rapallo ed il faro di Portofino) colta lungo il sentiero che da Chiavari porta al Santuario di Montallegro, sopra a Rapallo.
La foto, scattata diverso tempo fa ormai, mostra uno dei pochi (purtroppo) punti del sentiero in cui si ha un po’ di vista sulla costa; quasi sempre infatti i sentiero corre tra boschi fitti.

Varese Ligure from the Grecino bridge
The houses of the village of Varese overlooking the Vara River. In this beautiful town, in addition to the famous Piazza Fieschi, the round square that also gives the village its nickname, there is also the beautiful and ancient Grecino bridge.
From above the bridge you can see what is normally the back of the houses in the alley of Varese.

Il punto più fotografato della cittadina di Portovenere è sicuramente la Chiesa di San Pietro a Portovenere che si trova esattamente a picco sul mare su questo sperone di roccia.

Here is where the church is located:

The first Romanesque part (1198) was followed by the Gothic part with black and white banded facing which dates back to the 13th century and was built by the Genoese, probably between 1256 and 1270.

Non è la prima foto di questa via che pubblico sul sito ma devo dire che essendo una delle principali del borgo ligure è facile fotografarla percorrendola.
Un borgo veramente splendido Finalborgo e vi invito, se potete e potrete, a visitarlo!

Aderì alla Giovine Italia di Giuseppe Mazzini; combatté a Napoli il 15 maggio 1848 e quindi insieme a Garibaldi durante la Repubblica Romana nel 1849. Dopo la caduta di Roma si rifugiò in Piemonte, dove organizzò la fallita spedizione di Sapri con Carlo Pisacane nel 1857.
