Una bella piazza, direi quella più centrale ed importante, del bel borgo di brugnato in provincia della Spezia.
Le case colorate assieme a quelle in pietra sono visivamente eccezionali!

Between the 7th and 8th centuries, following the conquest of Liguria by the Lombards, the Columban monks of Bobbio, who followed the rule of Saint Columbanus and continued their work of evangelization, built a monastery that over time grew to become a religious and economic nerve center. The birth of Brugnato is therefore linked to the foundation of the abbey which, like other monastic sites in Liguria and northern Italy, depended on the abbey of San Colombano di Bobbio.

Dalla facciata neoclassica col le due campane in facciata e la statua della Vergine.

Secondo una tradizione locale, forse confermata da uno scritto del parroco, l’antica cappelletta fu già presente in quel di Bogliasco dal 1685 lungo la Via Romana. Il libro delle entrate della vicina confraternita di santa Chiara cita le prime registrazioni delle offerte a partire dal 1657, anno della tremenda epidemia di peste che colpì i comuni rivieraschi e la Liguria; probabile quindi che tale cappella sia stata eretta proprio dopo la pestilenza nel borgo marinaro.

La panoramica passeggiata del borgo di Framura in Liguria.
Se vi trovate nella Liguria di Levante e volete farvi un bagno in acque pulite e non troppo frequentate (attenzione pero’ che ad agosto anche qui c’e’ un carnaio) vi consiglio di prendere il treno e fare il biglietto fino a Framura.
Arrivati alla stazione, scendete dal sottopassaggio che sbuca direttamente nella passeggiata a mare. Tracento metri di splendida Liguria con, al termine, una bella spiaggetta!

Situated on the Ligurian coast, the small town of Framura is located within one of the many inlets and coves, typical of the rugged coast of the eastern Ligurian Riviera. Mount Serro (421 m. above sea level) is the highest peak in the Framura area and belongs to the protected area of ​​the Cinque Terre.

Dal tempo del grande afflusso di ospiti stranieri – dapprima britannici e quindi tedeschi – nei primi anni del Novecento l’economia di Portofino è strettamente legata al turismo. La locale “Piazzetta” sulla quale si affacciano i locali pubblici di ristoro, negozi, boutique e altre attività commerciali è stata nel luglio del 2012 riconosciuta come Locale storico d’Italia, primo e unico attestato rilasciato dall’omonima associazione, per il suo valore storico e culturale.

Il borgo di Bogliasco visto dalla costa di Levante.
Camminando lungo la via che costeggia il mare a Levante di Bogliasco abbiamo notato questa piccola creuza (si chiamano così in Liguria i piccoli vicoli che salgono dal mare) che scandeva.
Abbiamo deciso di percorrerla e siamo arrivati in un piccolo molo (in estate credo un piccolo stabilimento balneare) con le poche barche in secca ma una vista privilegiata sul borgo.

It is the first municipality you come across when travelling from Genoa towards the Riviera di Levante, in a small inlet at the mouth of the river of the same name. Among the reliefs of the territory there is Mount Cordona (803 m) along the ancient path to the hamlet of Sessarego and Mount Rotondo (789 m). The beaches alternate with deep and characteristic cliffs. It is possible to practice surfing there. The hinterland is typical of eastern Liguria, partly with strips of olive groves, with the possibility of excursions.

The territory of La Spezia was already inhabited in prehistoric times, as evidenced by the numerous stele statues and the finds from the Bronze and Iron Ages found on various occasions on the heights of the Gulf and the adjacent valleys. Later, in historical times, the territory saw the settlement of the Ligurian populations, subdued in 155 BC by the consul Marco Claudio Marcello.

The ancient toponym of Moneglia (ad Monilia) appears in the Tavola Peutingeriana, a copy of the military map of the Roman Empire (11th – 12th century) preserved in the Austrian National Library in Vienna, discovered by the antiquarian of Augsburg, Corrado Peutinger, in the sixteenth century.

The beautiful and renovated Villa Schiaffino in Deiva Marina.
This beautiful villa, in the seaside center of the village of Deiva, caught my attention.
Doing some research I discovered that it is called Villa Schiaffino (built by the homonymous family of shipowners from Camogli) and that in the mid-2010s it was demolished and rebuilt, identical to the previous one, but with all the improvements that modernity has been able to bring.
Among other things, the photo, processed in HDR, looks like one of those advertising postcards from the last century even if I took it last autumn.

The Schiaffino family, shipowners from Camogli, built the Villa in “liberty” style in 1925-27, when the retreat of the railway made the coast available for residential use. The small garden was decorated with palm trees and borders a ruined coastal tower. In the 1980s the Villa was abandoned and rapidly deteriorated.

Commissioned by the Fieschi family for the control and defence of the Varese area, it is made up of identical stone houses arranged along the perimeter which, with an elliptical shape, enclose the two main squares (Piazza Fieschi and Piazza Castello), where the commercial activities, warehouses and laboratories were located in the porticoes below.
