The Straight Alley in Chiavari
This is the main and best known street in Chiavari: the Carrugio Dritto (on the maps via Martiri della Liberazione).
Years after the first time I had to use the word carrugio, up until now, I'm still not sure how to write it correctly: carrugio, caruggio, carruggio or carugio.

The historic center of Chiavari can be considered one of the best preserved and preserved areas of the entire Tigullio district. Its urban and architectural structure is in fact very different from other coastal municipalities, especially due to the numerous presence of medieval porticoes along the main street of the historic center - the Caruggio Dritto - (via Martiri della Liberazione and via Vittorio Veneto) - symbol par excellence of the bourgeois class from the second half of the 14th century.
