The interior of the Santuario delle Grazie. I had never been to the church of the Grazie, above Chiavari, and I must say that it is truly a splendid example of Ligurian art. Its beautiful frescoes (by Teramo Piaggio and Luca Cambiaso) in addition to the hundreds of ex votos present in the chapel in front of the main entrance.

This, instead, is a nice video of the frescoes:
According to in-depth studies on the current structure, the various phases that led to the architectural evolution of the building followed a precise and logical choice of "aggregation", in the sense that the structure underwent various modifications over the centuries without the classic method of "superposition", a common phenomenon of other religious buildings in the Chiavari area and in the Ligurian territory, especially in the Baroque reinterpretations.
Slate arches and columns in Chiavari. I always enjoy walking through the alleys of Chiavari, there is always a shot waiting for you among the arches and columns. They are often made of slate and the contrast between the dark of this stone and the bright colors of the houses makes it all incredibly artistic, don't you think?

Arches and columns in Chiavari. Chiavari has many porticos and many columns. You can take a walk among the shops even when it rains. These columns are in via Rivalola, the street parallel to the Carrugio Dritto right at the height of one of the most beautiful and strange porticos: the Loggia dei Rosacroce.

The columns and arches of the historic center of Chiavari. Chiavari is certainly the most famous town in the Ligurian Riviera for its porticoed arches. This, as you can see, is a classic example. Various columns that support arches of all types; each building has its own style as well as each column and arch. A spectacle to walk around and photograph.

Piazza delle Carrozze in black and white. This morning I was on an errand in Chiavari and I took this photo in one of the main squares: Piazza delle Carrozze (whose real name is Piazza Giacomo Matteotti) with the small fountain in the foreground. Since the photo is very anonymous I took it in black and white to give it some tone.

View of Lavagna and Chiavari from Santa Giulia. Some time ago now (I took this photo on July 2nd of last year but I planned it to fill the days when I will be away from home) I went for a ride on my scooter to the church of Santa Giulia on the hills between Lavagna and Sestri Levante. From there you can enjoy an extraordinary view both to the East and to the West. In fact, this is a view of Lavagna and Chiavari from above. I apologize for the quality (the photo is a little squashed) and for the sharpness (it was really very hot and humid) but all in all it's a nice shot, I think.

Palace of Justice. The building, which housed the Chiavari court until 2013, is located in the heart of the historic center of Chiavari in Piazza Giuseppe Mazzini. Built in 1886 and designed by Giuseppe Partini, it is in medieval style with forms inspired by Tuscan Gothic. It was erected on the site of the ancient “Cittadella” of the fifteenth century, built by the Republic of Genoa as a concentration of civil and military power, of which the crenellated tower from 1537 is still visible.
