When I walk along Viale Enrico Millo, the straight street dedicated to the Italian soldier and politician born in Chiavari, I cannot help but admire the many beautiful villas that overlook it.
Come questa a due piani semplice e maestosa.

Where is the villa located:

Enrico Millo di Casalgiate (Chiavari, 12 February 1865 – Rome, 14 June 1930) was an Italian soldier and politician. He was Admiral of the Royal Navy and Minister of the Navy of the Kingdom of Italy. He was decorated with the Gold Medal for Military Valor. He was born in Chiavari (GE) in 1865 to Gustavo Millo of the counts of Casalgiate and Maria Luisa Altoè of the counts Anguissola di Altoè.

L’archivolto su piazza Mazzini da via dei Remolari

L’archivolto sulla piazza dedicata a Mazzini da via dei Remolari a Chiavari.
Una delle vie che ho “scoperto”, fotograficamente parlando, a Chiavari negli ultimi anni è via dei Remolari ed il bell’archivolto di Palazzo Torriglia che separa la via da piazza Mazzini.

Where is the archivolt located:

On the ground floor there was the post office where Garibaldi and Manzoni also slept. In this building there were works of art from Genoa, Naples and Venice.

Via Vittorio Veneto in centro a Chiavari

Via Vittorio Veneto in centro a Chiavari.
Il cantro di Chiavari è attraversato da una via rettilinea (caruggio) che è anche la via del passeggio.
Nella parte a Ponente si chiama via Martiri della Liberazione mentre nella parte a Levante si chiama via Vittorio Veneto (che poi volendo prosegue in Corso Dante).
Con il teleobiettivo si scattano foto che in questo caso ho volutamente reso un poco schiacciata ma era per cercare di coprire tutta la via in uno scatto solo.

The beautiful Fenice square in the centre of Chiavari

The beautiful Piazza Fenice in the centre of Chiavari.
In the historic centre of Chiavari, just behind the main pedestrian street (the Caruggio Dritto, via Martiri della Liberazione) is this beautiful and historic little square overlooking several beautiful historic Chiavari buildings.

The climb named after Alessio Levaggi in Chiavari.
A beautiful little street in Chiavari, near the church of Rupinaro, dedicated to the esteemed doctor Andrea Lavaggi (who I previously wrote was a craftsman who with his brothers created the company that produces the Sedia di Chiavarina) with this beautiful entrance portal to a beautiful villa.
Unfortunately I was unable to find anything about this entrance online.

Update: as Gian writes to me in comment “Alessio Lavaggi was a doctor who died in 1966. The portal belonged to the Falcone-Marana palace.”

Nel centro storico di Chiavari, c’è la bella piazza Mazzini circondata da splendidi palazzi.
Uno di questi, quello sopra la Farmacia Podestà, è il soggetto della foto di oggi.
Era in parziale ristrutturazione quando ho scattato.

Via Giuseppe Gaetano Descalzi in Chiavari.
Some time ago I was walking along Via Fiume, in Chiavari, and my gaze (and my cell phone) fell on this staircase (I would say a typical Ligurian creuza) that since I was a kid I have always called "the climb to Caboto".
When I decided to publish the photo, I discovered that it was dedicated to Mr. Descalzi who I discovered was the creator of the Chiavarina chair, one of the artistic excellences of my area.

The Chiavari chair is still produced today by a company from Chiavari: levaggisedie.it.

Here's where the street is:

In 1807 the Marquis of Rivarola challenged him to produce a new chair inspired by a model brought from Paris, thus creating the Chiavari chair, or chiavarina, which became extremely popular. His sons Emanuele and Giacomo and their descendants continued production, and several factories opened in Chiavari and the surrounding area, developing the furniture industry that is still present in the area today.

Cristoforo Colombo Course in Chiavari

Corso Cristoforo Colombo in Chiavari.
Some time ago, this street in Chiavari was partially renovated (with the construction of a cycle path and the planting of a row of trees) and now appears very modern.
It is the street that goes from the Columbus monument to the Entella river, running parallel to the sea.
