Via Giuseppe Gaetano Descalzi in Chiavari. Some time ago I was walking along Via Fiume, in Chiavari, and my gaze (and my cell phone) fell on this staircase (I would say a typical Ligurian creuza) that since I was a kid I have always called "the climb to Caboto". When I decided to publish the photo, I discovered that it was dedicated to Mr. Descalzi who I discovered was the creator of the Chiavarina chair, one of the artistic excellences of my area.

The Chiavari chair is still produced today by a company from Chiavari: levaggisedie.it.
Here's where the street is:
In 1807 the Marquis of Rivarola challenged him to produce a new chair inspired by a model brought from Paris, thus creating the Chiavari chair, or chiavarina, which became extremely popular. His sons Emanuele and Giacomo and their descendants continued production, and several factories opened in Chiavari and the surrounding area, developing the furniture industry that is still present in the area today. Corso Cristoforo Colombo in Chiavari. Some time ago, this street in Chiavari was partially renovated (with the construction of a cycle path and the planting of a row of trees) and now appears very modern. It is the street that goes from the Columbus monument to the Entella river, running parallel to the sea.

A beautiful building in Caruggio Dritto in Chiavari. The center of Chiavari is probably one of the most beautiful places to walk in Liguria: many nice shops, the arcades (so when it rains you can still walk) and a street long enough to go back and forth a couple of times. Every now and then I stop to photograph one of the many buildings that, without interruption, form this beautiful street. There are no more than two columns or more than two identical arches in the whole city!

The statue dedicated to Giuseppe Garibaldi in Chiavari. In the centre of Chiavari, right where the straight alley crosses Corso Garibaldi, there is the monument dedicated to the "Hero of the Two Worlds" with the inscription that remembers his father who was from Chiavari:
A GIUSEPPE GARIBALDI NELLA TERRA DEI SUOI MAGGIORI LIETA DI AVER MATURATO UN TAL VINDICE ALLA GRAN MADRE ITALIA CHIAVARI. MDCCCXC

Some arcades in via Giuseppe Raggio in Chiavari. It is certainly not the most famous alley in Chiavari but here too there are some splendid arcades. This is also a street parallel to the Caruggio Dritto on the mountain side.

The statue dedicated to Giuseppe Mazzini in the square of the same name in Chiavari. Walking through the historic center of Chiavari and along the famous Caruggio Dritto at a certain point the street opens onto this beautiful square in the center of which is the beautiful statue dedicated to one of the fathers of the Italian Risorgimento: Giuseppe Mazzini (whose family was originally from Chiavari). With the beautiful Palazzo di Giustizia (formerly the courthouse) behind it, one of the classic photos of the coastal city.

Giuseppe Mazzini (Genoa, 22 June 1805 – Pisa, 10 March 1872) was an Italian patriot, politician, philosopher and journalist. A leading exponent of Risorgimento patriotism, his ideas and political action contributed decisively to the formation of the unified Italian State; the sentences he received in various Italian courts, however, forced him to remain in hiding until his death because he was a staunch supporter of the republican institution against the Savoy monarchy.

The historic center of Chiavari can be considered one of the best preserved and preserved areas of the entire Tigullio district. Its urban and architectural structure is in fact very different from other coastal municipalities, especially due to the numerous presence of medieval porticoes along the main street of the historic center - the Caruggio Dritto - (via Martiri della Liberazione and via Vittorio Veneto) - symbol par excellence of the bourgeois class from the second half of the 14th century. The Palace of Justice of Chiavari is a historic building in the city of Chiavari in the metropolitan city of Genoa. The building was erected in 1886 according to the design of the architect Giuseppe Partini. It was built on the site of the ancient “Cittadella” of the fifteenth century, built by the Republic of Genoa as a concentration of civil and military power, of which the crenellated tower of 1537 is still visible, today incorporated into the palace.
