Una bella azalea in un vivaio in Liguria

Una foto di una bellissima azalea in un vivaio in Liguria.
Qualche tempo fa sono stato in uno dei più grandi vivai di fiori e piante della mia zona e mi sono sbizzarrito con le foto e tante le devo ancora inserire.
Questi sono i fiori rosati di una delle pianta chiamata rododendro o azalea.

Note con il nome comune di rododendro o azalea, infiniti ibridi e varietà, di piante arbustive, che vanno da 40 a 90 cm, con chiome a portamento aperto e foglie grandi, ruvide, ovali o lanceolate, di colore verde scuro lucido superiormente, più chiare o di colore rugginoso sulla pagina inferiore, con il margine glabro e revoluto, fiori semplici o doppi, dai colori vistosi, campanulati, con lobi a volte ondulati, riuniti in grandi mazzi, alle estremità dei rami.

A bee while immersed in pollen from a passion flower.
One of the flowers I love to photograph most is the passion flower.
The kaleidoscope of colors fascinates me greatly.
At that moment there was also a beautiful bee that was stealing the nectar.

The name of the genus, adopted by Linnaeus in 1753 and meaning “passion flower” (from the Latin passio = passion and flos = flower), was attributed to it by the Jesuit missionaries in 1610, due to the similarity of some parts of the plant to the religious symbols of the passion of Jesus: the tendrils to the whip with which he was flagellated, the three styles to the nails, the stamens to the hammer, the corolla rays to the crown of thorns.

Una bella ninfea fotografata in un tempio in Vietnam.
Qualche mese fa sono stato in Vietnam e, in visita ad uno dei tanti templi del paese, ho fotografato questo bel fiore in un vaso.
Era il tempio Ngoc Hoa Monastic nella regione di Qui Nhon.

L’infiorescenza è formata da grandi fiori natanti generalmente solitari. La lunghezza del peduncolo, a sezione rotonda, è in funzione della profondità dell’acqua. Normalmente i fiori durano a lungo e si aprono durante il giorno solo a cielo sereno.

Allegra pianta messicana trattata generalmente come annuale, riseminandola ogni anno in aiuola o in vaso, dal momento che non resiste in inverno al gelo e che lo sviluppo da seme è facile e veloce. Forma steli sottili e flessuosi che portano corolle a margherita, leggere e coloratissime in mille sfumature dal bianco al violetto. Cosmos sulphureus è una specie meno diffusa, con fiori color giallo-arancio.

Alcuni bei fiori fotografati in un vivaio.
Qualche settimana fa, anzi direi un paio di mesi, sono stato con mia moglie a visitare un grande vivaio di fiori e piante della mia zona.
Non mi sono potuto esimere dallo scattare decine di foto e piano piano le inserirò.
Di alcuni fiori sono riuscito a sapere il nome, di altri proprio no.
Qui ne pubblico un po’!

Un fiore giallo nella spiaggia di Accra a Barbados nei Caraibi.
Cosa c’è di bello delle spiagge tropicali e caraibiche è che molto spesso, accanto alle distese di sabbia, crescono piante verdi che spesso hanno dei fiori bellissimi.
E’ il caso di questo fiore giallognolo che ho trovato e fotografato nella bella spiaggia di Accra nell’isola di Barbados.

Prickly pear flowers on the sea of Sestri Levante.
Some time ago you took lots of photos of flowers and today I wanted to bring some color back to the blog.
Many prickly pear plants grow along the wall beyond the Cappuccini in the Baia del Silenzio of my Sestri Levante and, when I bring my telephoto lens and they are in season, I always like to take a nice photo of these bright pink flowers.

The prickly pear or prickly pear is a plant native to Mexico. From here, in ancient times, it spread among the populations of Central America who cultivated and traded it already at the time of the Aztecs, among whom it was considered a sacred plant with strong symbolic values.

On Women's Day (today is March 8th) I wanted to dedicate a photo to all the women in my life and beyond.
The photo is from a while ago and I was saving it for today. It was taken from the Mimose area just above Sestri Levante at sunset.

Tra i fiori più belli ci sono quelli dell’albicocco

Tra i fiori più belli ci sono quelli dell’albicocco.
Una foto d’archivio (nel senso che l’ho scattata ormai molto ma molto tempo fa ma non ero mai riuscito a pubblicarla) di uno splendido ramo di fiori di albicocco.
Ovviamente non era stata scattata in agosto ma mi sembra molto bella.

Albero da frutto, noto anche come armellino nei dialetti veneti in seguito agli scambi con l’Oriente, fu creduto da Linneo originario dell’Armenia – da qui deriva l’epiteto specifico “armeniaca” – ma la pianta era originaria della Cina. Venne importato in Europa dal romano Lucullo.
