St. Mark's little Square in Venice from the Two Columns

Piazzetta San Marco a Venezia dai Due Leoni

San Marco square in Venice from the Two Columns.
Arriving from the water, from the dock of the Doge's Palace, you arrive in Piazzetta San Marco passing through the two monumental columns that support the statues of the two patrons of Venice: San Marco and San Todaro. This is the antechamber of the very famous Piazza San Marco.

The Civic Tower of Murano reflected in the water of the canal.
A trip to Venice a few months ago finally took me to visit the beautiful island of Murano (and also that of Burano).
It was very nice to walk along the canals of the island and see the shop windows full of glass "jewels" so famous in the world.

The islands on which Murano stands are located along the Marani canal and are divided by canals and streams and connected to each other by bridges; their territory is totally urbanized, excluding Sacca San Mattia, still being reclaimed. Two islands are of artificial origin: Sacca Serenella and Sacca San Mattia. The center is known throughout the world for the centuries-old artisan activity that produces Murano glass.

The statues and the small canal of Prato della Valle in Padua

Le statue e il piccolo canale di Prato della Valle a Padova

The statues and the small canal of Prato della Valle in Padua.
A few months ago I visited the city of Padua and I found a really beautiful town.
This, in particular, is Prato della Valle (considered one of the largest squares in Europe); a rounded open space of the city where you can walk.
From this square starts the pedestrian street (here in Liguria we will call the carrugio) that crosses the entire center of the city.

The statues were fundamental to the transformation of the Prato not only visually but also financially. In fact, they were paid for by individual citizens or groups upon payment of a sum that could vary between 135 and 150 zecchini and which served both for the living cost of the statue and as a contribution to the general works of the Prato.

Le Colonne di San Lorenzo a Milano

The Columns of San Lorenzo in Milan.
Walking aimlessly in Milan we came across this place which is famous above all for its nightlife (since it is a place where young people gather) but which is actually one of the few remaining examples of the presence of the ancient Romans in the imperial city of Milan.

These are sixteen columns, about 7 and a half meters high, in Musso marble, with Corinthian capitals that support the trabeation. In reality, looking closely, there are 17 columns, in fact on the top of the arch that is in the center of the columns, which differentiates 8 on one side and 8 on the other, there is a miniature column with a cross on top. They come from Roman buildings dating back to the 2nd or 3rd century, probably a pagan temple located in the area of the current Piazza Santa Maria Beltrade.

Famous for its historical monuments, it is one of the few provincial capitals to preserve the historic center, rich in ancient structures from various eras, completely surrounded by a sixteenth-century wall that is intact and almost unchanged over the centuries. It is a notable city of art in Italy.

The Metropolitan Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, commonly known as the Florence Cathedral, is the main church of Florence, the symbol of the city and one of the most famous in Italy; when it was completed in the fifteenth century, it was the largest church in the world, while today it is considered the third in Europe after St. Peter's in Rome and the Milan Cathedral. It stands on the foundations of the ancient cathedral of Florence, the church of Santa Reparata, in a part of the city that has hosted places of worship since Roman times.

The iconic Bar Brera in the Milanese neighborhood of the same name.
Walking through the center of Milan (let's say from the Duomo area), in a few minutes you arrive in the beautiful Brera neighborhood that welcomes visitors, as well as with the famous academy, also with several bars and outdoor areas for dining or having a coffee.
This is certainly the most famous and iconic!

I didn't find the link to the official website but only to the review on TripAdvisor.
