Travelling along the streets of the Peninsula (or Island) of Sestri Levante you must cross the walls of the Gualino Castles, the structures built at the beginning of the 20th century by the entrepreneur Gualino.

Castelli Gualino, today Hotel dei Castelli, on the promontory of Sestri Levante. These are three buildings in neo-medieval style built between 1925 and 1929 by architects Clemente and Michele Busiri Vici with the advice of art critic Lionello Venturi, commissioned by the Piedmontese industrialist Riccardo Gualino. The Castello dei Cipressi was intended as the residence of the Gualino family, the Castello dei Lecci as a guesthouse, and the Castello delle Agavi as a service area and accommodation for the servants. They were transformed into a hotel in 1950.

Tramonto in Baia del Silenzio parte seconda.
Ieri ho inserito un paio di foto della Baia al tramonto mostrandovene una parte.
Oggi, come vi avevo detto ieri, eccovi la foto scattata in quello stesso giorno con l’altro lato della spiaggia.
I colori della nostra Portobello sono eccezionali al tramonto e questa foto era stata realizzata in agosto quando forse è il momento più bello per viverla.

Mareggiata a Sant’Anna il 28 dicembre 2020.
Quest’oggi, mentre nel resto della Liguria (a Ponente) c’era la neve, a Sestri Levante c’era una mareggiata che sferzava la spiaggia e le gallerie di Sant’Anna.
Ho scattato diverse foto mentre stava sopraggiungendo il tramonto.
Vi sottolineo le onde che arrivavano alle gallerie ed addirittura le sorpassavano in altezza (da cui la chiusura al traffico del pomeriggio.

Sunset in Baia del Silenzio.
This photo, taken last August, truly has colors that only a summer sunset and our splendid Baia del silenzio can give.
In this post I have inserted the photos that show the part of the bay closest to Citto and the Helvetia hotel.
Soon I will insert one, taken at the same time, of the other side of the bay towards the Annunziata convent.

La Natività dei Delfini.
Volevo augurarvi un Buon Natale postandovi la foto di questa natività, un pochino trasandata al momento della fotografia, situata nel sagrato della chiesa di Trigoso.
Anche lo scorso anno vi ho proposto la stessa Natività ma l’opera era una copia (o forse lo è questa) della statua che è situata nei giardinetti, o meglio nelle aiuole, lungo la passeggiata di Sestri all’altezza del Balin.

Viale Dante a Sestri Levante

Viale Dante a Sestri Levante.
Una delle vie centrali della mia Sestri ridisegnate (o comunque rinnovate) con la demolizione dei capannoni della ex Fit.
Gli alberi sono rimasti ma al posto di edifici industriali è sorto il complesso dove ci sono alcuni negozi e la Coop.

The statue of Mariele Ventre in Sestri Levante.
The beautiful bronze statue of the famous lady who founded the Piccolo Coro dell'Antoniano in Bologna who will soon become Blessed.
In the representation of the artist from Sestri Alfredo Gioventù the director teaches the fish to sing!
