Via Milite Ignoto in Riva Trigoso.
It is certainly not the most famous or seen street in Riva Trigoso (the hamlet of Sestri Levante) but it still has its beauty.
I really liked this photo, taken a few weeks ago and colored in HDR, though.

The Unknown Soldier is a soldier who died in a war whose body has not been identified and who is thought never to be identified. His tomb is a symbolic burial that represents all those who died in a conflict and who have never been identified. The practice of having a tomb of the Unknown Soldier became widespread especially after the First World War, a conflict in which the number of unidentified bodies was enormous.

The initial part of the alley of Sestri Levante

Carrugio di Sestri Levante

La parte iniziale del caruggio di Sestri Levante.
Qualche settimana fa in carrugio (carruggio,caruggio…) a Sestri. Al suo inizio per errore precisi.
Sulla sinistra la pasticceria Rossignotti e sulla destra il negozio di Rossi.
Di fronte la via per le due baie.

Carrugio di Sestri Levante

Distinta dal caroggio, ma ad esso accomunata dalle anguste proporzioni, è crêuza (spesso crosa in italiano), mulattiera, scalinata o ancora piccola salita che dalle alture collinari scende ripidamente a valle; se situata nei pressi del mare, spesso in prossimità di trivi (incroci di tre strade) la creuza diventa una Creuza de mâ, ovvero una crêuza di mare, così come è stata cantata da Fabrizio De André nel brano intitolato, appunto, Creuza de mâ.

Baia del Silenzio il 31 luglio 2018.
Sempre ieri ho scattato un’altra foto della nostra splendida baia di Portobello questa volta da un pochino più in alto della strada che porta ai Cappuccini.
I colori sono magnifici, che ne dite?

Tra le due baie e l’istmo si sviluppa il centro storico, mentre la parte più moderna occupa la piana che, estendendosi tra il mare e le colline dell’entroterra, divide Sestri Levante a nord dalla val Graveglia con il monte Bianco, alto 876 m, e a nord-est dalla val Petronio con il monte Caddio (390 m), monte Bomba (608 m) e monte Incisa (700 m); a nord-ovest il promontorio di Sant’Anna prosegue per un difficile ma suggestivo e panoramico crinale sul golfo del Tigullio, fino ai monti Costello (498 m), Zucchetto (614 m) e Capenardo (693 m).

Spiaggia dal Bunker a Riva a luglio.
Un paio di settimane fa sono stato a Riva Trigoso e ho scattato qualche foto alla fine della passeggiata di Ponente all’altezza del Bunker Bar.
I lettini e gli ombrelloni sono spiegati al vento e la spiaggia pullula di bagnanti. Non c’era ancora il caldo opprimente di questi giorni ma si stava proprio bene!
Sullo sfondo il cantiere (ma finalmente non c’è più il “Cantierino” che deturpava la vista).
Invidia per chi si faceva un bagnetto.

Baia del Silenzio on July 31, 2018.
This morning the Baia del Silenzio (Portobello) was truly splendid: clean water, exceptional heat and not many people.
I must say that every time I go up to take photos from the Salita dei Cappuccini I always intend to go and swim from the rocks (not the sandy part) because the water there is truly transparent… but in the end I never go…
Sooner or later I will go and I will also take some videos with the Gopro… maybe when there are a few less “foreign” bathers!

Anche quest’anno si è svolta la Barcarolata a Sestri Levante con gli immancabili e splendidi fuochi artificiali finali.
La cornice dello spettacolo della Baia del Silenzio è assolutamente eccezionale.

A few days ago I took some more photos in our beautiful Baia del Silenzio (Portobello) in Sestri Levante.
This one was also built from the churchyard of the Capuchin convent, where there is a splendid view.
As you can see from the photo, however, the sea water these days is particularly green near the Citto Bar.
But don't worry: it's a completely natural thing; they are algae or algae pollen that when it gets very hot proliferate and leave these sediments adrift. If you notice, in fact, the current carries them, in greater quantities, to the farthest point of the bay.

Le case a Riva Trigoso.
Qualche giorno fa ho scattato alcune foto a Riva Trigoso, a Ponente.
Questa fa il paio con l’altra che vi ho già postato.
Le belle case lungo la “vecchia” passeggiata dal Bunker.
Scrivo vecchia perché da qualche tempo c’è anche la nuova passeggiata nata delle ceneri del Cantierino (se volete approfondire andate here).
Riva Trigoso è una frazione a Levante di Sestri Levante.

Hotel Nettuno a Sestri Levante

Hotel Nettuno a Sestri Levante.
E’ probabilmente uno dei simboli alberghieri di Sestri Levante l’Hotel Nettuno. Per molti anni della mia infanzia è stato abbandonato e lasciato in decadenza. Poi però è stato ristrutturato ed ora è un gioiellino con suites, ristorante e lounge bar sul tetto.
Questa foto è stata scattata dalla piazzetta alberata che sta dall’altra parte della strada; e come potete vedere è con l’effetto miniature.
