Spaghetti cacio e pepe gustati in nave

A plate of spaghetti cacio e pepe enjoyed on board
A dish that I must say I appreciate very much, even though I have eaten it relatively little, is pasta cacio e pepe.
Even though the ingredients are very simple, it is not at all easy to prepare this type of pasta.
Everything must be cooked properly otherwise the cheese will string and clump together.
At home, after a couple of unsuccessful attempts, I found the right measurements, as did the chef on the ship who, the time I took these photos, had cooked an excellent dish!

Cacio e pepe is a typical dish from Lazio. As the name suggests, the ingredients are very simple and include only black pepper, pecorino romano cheese and pasta. The most traditionally used type of pasta is tonnarello. Like other dishes of Lazio cuisine, it is prepared with simple ingredients, easily available and with a long shelf life (during the transhumance it was not easy to get food). It has its roots in the cuisine of farmers and shepherds of the Roman countryside.

Via del Prione ovvero il caruggio della Spezia.
The centre of La Spezia is crossed, for almost its entirety, by this pedestrian street called Via del Prione.
For us Ligurians this type of street is called caruggio (even if it is slightly wider than normal, the caruggi are just a little less bright); in other regions it is called via dello struscio or dello shopping.

The territory of La Spezia was already inhabited in prehistoric times, as evidenced by the numerous stele statues and the finds from the Bronze and Iron Ages found on various occasions on the heights of the Gulf and the adjacent valleys. Later, in historical times, the territory saw the settlement of the Ligurian populations, subdued in 155 BC by the consul Marco Claudio Marcello.

Where is the fort located:

The archipelago is made up of two major islands, Madeira and Porto Santo, three smaller uninhabited islands, known as the Desertas, and two smaller islands, also uninhabited, called the Savage Islands. The largest island is Madeira. The archipelago, together with Cape Verde, the Azores and the Canaries, forms Macaronesia; the Azores and Madeira are part of Portugal, the Canaries are part of Spain and Cape Verde, once Portuguese, is now an independent republic.

The Passion Facade of the Sagrada Familia
One of Gaudí's masterpieces recognized throughout the world is the Sagrada Familia.
The eternally unfinished Spanish cathedral.
This is one of the many facades, dedicated to the Passion of Christ, surmounted by four of the church's many towers.

Where is the cathedral located:

The Passion façade was begun in 1954 according to the drawings and explanations that Gaudí had left. The towers were finished in 1976 and since then work has been carried out on the sculptural decoration. Gaudí designed this façade while recovering from Malta fever in Puigcerdà in 1911. Dedicated to the Passion of Jesus, it aims to reflect the suffering of Christ in his crucifixion, as a ransom for the sins of men.

The village of Vernazza seen from the top of the path
The last time I was in the Cinque Terre I walked the path from Monterosso to Vernazza passing by the Sanctuary of Soviore.
You climb a lot and then, when you go down to the village, you have a slightly different view than that of the Sentiero Azzurro.
I took many photos of which this is one of the most beautiful for me.
The only shame is that the sun's glare, the distance and a bit of haze didn't allow for a clear photo.

The city was the capital of the Serenissima Republic of Venice for 1100 years and is known in this regard as the Serenissima, the Dominant and the Queen of the Adriatic: for its urban peculiarities and its artistic heritage, it is universally considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world, declared, together with its lagoon, a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, which has contributed to making it the second Italian city after Rome with the highest tourist flow.

In questo caso un bel palazzone, in Corso Colombo, proprio di fronte alla casa dove nacque Giovanni Descalzo.
