Dream sea: the transparent waters of Framura

Mare da sogno: le acque trasparenti di Framura

Dream sea: the transparent waters of Framura
One of the places in my area (Eastern Liguria) that I like to go to in the summer to have a nice swim is Framura.
The tiny village near the Cinque Terre has a splendid promenade, overlooking the sea, along which you can reach a couple of truly enchanting beaches.
And if you are an adventure lover, here and there along the promenade, there are points where you can go down to the sea and dive into this truly crystalline water!

Here's where the walk is located:

Situated on the Ligurian coast, the small town of Framura is located within one of the many inlets and coves, typical of the rugged coast of the eastern Ligurian Riviera. Mount Serro (421 m. above sea level) is the highest peak in the Framura area and belongs to the protected area of the Cinque Terre.

The Archivolt of Via Gerolamo Boccardo in Genoa

L'Archivolto di via Gerolamo Boccardo a Genova

The Archivolt of Via Gerolamo Boccardo in Genoa
Walking along the beautiful Via XX Settembre in Genoa, as I have already written to you many times, I almost always keep my nose in the air to enjoy all the beauty and details found there.
Just like this beautiful archivolt (or perhaps it is more of a terrace) that unites these two buildings, giving rise to the short street dedicated to an illustrious Genoese: Gerolamo Boccardo.

Here is where the archivolt is located:

Gerolamo Boccardo (Genoa, March 16, 1829 – Rome, March 20, 1904) was an Italian economist and politician. He was a senator of the Kingdom of Italy in the XIII legislature. After completing his high school studies, in 1844 he enrolled in the Faculty of Law at the University of Genoa, but the political commitments he soon took on made him delay his graduation, which he obtained only on July 2, 1849. In 1847 he was elected president of the Società Entellica di Chiavari, recently moved to Genoa. During this period he worked as a journalist at the Corriere Mercantile of Genoa, working to promote the transformation of the newspaper from an exclusively commercial newspaper to a political and economic newspaper.

Spiaggia di Bãi Biển in Quy Nhơn

Dream Beaches: Bai Bien in Vietnam
In the Binh Dinh region, in the city of Quy Nhơn, you will find this beautiful and long golden sand beach.
Many seaside hotels and restaurants crowd this beautiful coastal town which I visited last year with my wife.
It's just a shame that there wasn't much sun that day.

The Polyptych of St. Augustine by Perugino in Perugia

Il Polittico di Sant'Agostino del Perugino alla Galleria nazionale dell'Umbria a Perugia

Part of the Polyptych of Sant’Agostino by Perugino at the Galleria Nazionale dell’Umbria in Perugia.
One of the many works that a few months ago I had the pleasure of observing during a short but intense holiday in Umbria.
One of the masterpieces of the genius of Perugino.

The Polyptych of Sant’Agostino is an oil painting on panel by Pietro Perugino, datable to two phases, one from 1502 to 1512 approximately and one from 1513 to 1523 approximately, preserved in most of the compartments at the Galleria Nazionale dell’Umbria in Perugia. The polyptych was originally intended for the church of Sant’Agostino in Perugia and can be considered the artist’s last great work before his late production, destined for more provincial centres.

The pavement has recently (a few years) been renewed and restructured and now hosts both a short cycle path (not very functional) and these little trees.

The Costa Fascinosa in port in Tenerife, Spain.
When I go for a tour of the cities I visit with the ship (this was the Costa Fascinosa, now more than a year ago) I like to photograph the iconic yellow chimney from a little far away.
This is the Charca, a swimming pool and fountain, right in front of the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Here is the spot where I took this photo:

Costa Fascinosa is a cruise ship of the Genoa-based Costa Crociere company. It was ordered in October 2007 and built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera. It entered service on 5 May 2012. The names Costa Fascinosa and Costa Favolosa were selected through a competition. The choice of names was guided by approximately 40,000 travel agents in over 40 countries, who submitted more than 16,000 possible pairs of names for the two ships. In the end, twenty-five pairs of names were published on the World of Costa website, where visitors were invited to choose their favorite pairing, and after more than 42,000 preferences expressed, in the end the names “Favolosa” and “Fascinosa” were the winners.

Paccheri with fresh tomato sauce

I paccheri con il sugo di pomodoro fresco

Paccheri with fresh tomato sauce.
If done well, a good tomato sauce is one of the best pasta sauces there is.
But simple dishes are not always the easiest to prepare.
In this case, on the ship, it was truly excellent!

Paccheri are a type of pasta from Campania, originating from the Neapolitan tradition, shaped like giant macaroni, generally made with durum wheat semolina. The term derives from the ancient Greek (from πας, “all” and χειρ, “hand”) of the first founders of Parthènope and is still used in the Italian language as “pacca”, or a slap given with an open hand, without hostile intentions.
