A very special building in Sestri
Every time I walk along the seafront in Sestri, which in this stretch is called via Lungomare Descalzo (but just after the roundabout it is called Vittorio Veneto), I see this very particular building due to its unusually triangular shape (from above).

Where is the palace:
The Costa Fascinosa in port in Bridgetown on the island of Barbados.
The last ship I worked on was the Costa Fascinosa of Costa Crociere.
In the last season in the Caribbean I took many photos of the ship in various ports.
This one, for example, I took while the ship was in port in Bridgetown in Barbados.

Le case colorate del centro storico di Brugnato in Liguria.
Il bel centro storico del borgo di Brugnato, in provincia della Spezia, tutto ben tenuto è proprio bello da visitare.
Ogni tanto, quando faccio un salto all’outlet, non manco mai di fare un giretto e qualche foto tra i vicoli ed i caruggi del borgo.

Between the 7th and 8th centuries, following the conquest of Liguria by the Lombards, the Columban monks of Bobbio, who followed the rule of Saint Columbanus and continued their work of evangelization, built a monastery that over time grew to become a religious and economic nerve center. The birth of Brugnato is therefore linked to the foundation of the abbey which, like other monastic sites in Liguria and northern Italy, depended on the abbey of San Colombano di Bobbio.

Un imponente e bel palazzo in Corso Garibaldi a Chiavari.
Mi piace moltissimo fotografare i bei palazzi di Chiavari e cercare di capirne la storia o la importanza. Questo è situato in Corso Garibaldi e mi piacciono molto le decorazioni della facciata.

Il Perseo che ha ucciso Medusa nella Loggia dei Lanzi a Firenze.
Se siete a Firenze non potete sicuramente mancare di vedere questa statua situata proprio in centro, nella famosissima piazza della Signoria.
Si trova riparata sotto alla Loggia dei Lanzi, quella struttura di fronte a Palazzo Vecchio che ospita diverse opere.

Perseo viene ricordato soprattutto per l’uccisione della Gorgone Medusa, per aver salvato Andromeda, poi diventata sua sposa, da un mostro marino e per essere stato re di Tirinto, dopo aver rinunciato al trono di Argo a favore di Megapente, e di Micene, città che fondò lui stesso. Dalla moglie Andromeda ebbe molti figli, tra cui Elettrione (suo erede e nonno di Eracle) e Gorgofone (madre di Icario e nonna di Penelope, sposa di Odisseo).

Le piccole case colorate sono sicuramente il biglietto da visita del borgo di Burano appena vicino a Venezia.

Burano is a town of 2,270 inhabitants that stands on four islands in the northern Venetian lagoon. It is part of the municipality of Venice and in particular of the municipality of Venice-Murano-Burano. It is connected by a bridge to the island of Mazzorbo, which has become a sort of appendix. The town is known for its typical brightly colored houses and for the centuries-old artisan needlework of Burano lace.

Un angolo di via Portobello a Sestri Levante.
Da questo punto, per chi arriva sulla Penisola di Sestri Levante si aprono due vie: via Portobello, che si apre sulla splendida Baia del Silenzio, e via Penisola Levante che sale fino alla chiesetta di San Nicolò.
Affissa al muro la targa (posta nel 2019) che ricorda che “qui sulla spiaggia di Portobello, il 27 settembre 1919, nacque l”Unione Sportiva Sestri Levante”

Ecco il punto preciso in cui ho scattato questa foto:
Un signorile palazzo in Corso Angelo Gianelli a Chiavari.
Passeggiando per le strade di Chiavari sono spesso con il naso (e l’obiettivo) all’insù per vedere e riprendere particolari interessanti.
Come questo bel palazzo (devo dire tra i molti di questa via) con i molti simboli sulla facciata: il galeone sopra il portone, la targa credo di costruzione del 1938 e gli stemmi sopra le finestre.
Mi affascinano i palazzi storici, peccato non riuscire a trovare facilmente informazioni.

Il leone stiloforo a guardia dell’ingresso del Duomo di Parma.
La cattedrale di Parma ha il proprio ingresso principale custodito da questi due leoni (stilofori).
Recentemente ho scattato diverse foto a questo tipo di statue, quasi sempre leoni, all’ingresso di edifici storici (e meno).

Lo stiloforo è un termine architettonico derivante dal greco e che significa “portatore di stilo”, cioè portatore di colonna. È usato per indicare quelle sculture di animali o mostri fantastici poste a base delle colonnine di sostegno dei protiri o anche dei pulpiti solitamente nelle chiese romaniche. A differenza della cariatide, una scultura che sostituisce l’intera colonna facendo da supporto per la trabeazione, lo stiloforo costituisce il solo basamento della colonna.

Il maestoso Palazzo San Giorgio di fronte al Porto Antico di Genova.
Il palazzo più fotografato dai visitatori del Porto Antico è sicuramente questo. Situato proprio di fronte all’ingresso sia dei vicoli del centro storico sia del porto.
Con il bel dipinto in facciata di San Giorgio che trafigge il drago.

Il Palazzo di San Giorgio, o Palazzo delle Compere di San Giorgio, è un edificio storico tra i più importanti e conosciuti di Genova. Attualmente ospita la sede dell’Autorità portuale di Genova.
