Passeggiando nel centro storico di Genova, nella parte antistante il Porto Antico e l’Acquario di Genova, si trova la caratteristica via chiamata Sottoripa.
Corre sotto ai portici dei palazzi del fronte mare ed accoglie una serie di negozi (che adesso sono di streetfood etnici ma che una volta erano botteghe) locali.
Passeggiandoci si passa anche in questo punto, probabilmente un palazzo più importante degli altri, di cui restano le decorazioni della volta.

L’interno della splendida Cappella degli Scrovegni a Padova.
Uno dei luoghi che ho visitato che mi ha piu’ meravigliato e impressionato. Per la mia esperienza se la gioca con la Cappella Sistina di Roma.
Qui Giotto ha realizzato uno dei capolavori dell’arte di tutti i tempi.
Non voglio scrivere molto di piu’ perche’ le descrizioni degli affreschi e la storia del luogo la potete facilmente leggere online (e come sempre non mi piace scopiazzare).

The Santa Reparata complex was built in the 5th century on an area of Roman settlement. Around the 6th century the complex took on a cemetery function but in the 8th century the church was functioning again. Gli affreschi all’interno del Santuario delle Grazie a Chiavari.
Una delle chiesette più belle di tutto il Tigullio secondo me. Si trova appena sopra Chiavari lungo l’Aurelia in direzione Rapallo.
Al suo interno gli spendidi affreschi di teramo Piaggio; piu’ famoso l’affresco del Giudizzio Universale di Luca Cambiaso nella controfacciata (alle spalle di questa foto).

Secondo studi approfonditi sull’odierna struttura, le varie fasi che portarono ad un’evoluzione architettonica dell’edificio seguirono una precisa e logica scelta di “aggregazione”, nel senso che l’impianto subì le varie modifiche nei secoli senza il classico metodo della “sovrapposizione”, fenomeno comune di altri edifici religiosi del chiavarese e del territorio ligure, soprattutto nelle rivisitazioni barocche.

The starry ceiling of the Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua.
When visiting Padua I could not miss entering the Basilica of the Saint.
In addition to the famous chapel, I was impressed, in the presbytery behind the main altar, by the blue ceiling decorated with golden stars.
If I am not mistaken, these frescoes were created by Casanova and were damaged by the great earthquake that hit North-West Italy on May 29, 2012.
