The snow-capped Maritime Alps seen from Sestri Levante.
On particularly clear and cold days (I have had this photo in my archive for a long time and I really don't think the day I'm posting it was that cold) from my Sestri Levante you can see the Maritime Alps, those on the border between Italy and France, very well.
Obviously to photograph them you need a good telephoto lens!

The Maritime Alps are a section of the Alpine chain located in the Western Alps. According to the Partition of the Alps, they are the Alpine section that extends between the Tenda pass and the Cadibona pass. According to the SOIUSA, however, they constitute a subsection included in the section "Maritime Alps and Prealps of Nice" and extend from the Tenda pass to the Maddalena pass.

Le Alpi Marittime innevate viste dal Monte Zatta

Le Alpi Marittime innevate viste dal Monte Zatta.
Uno dei sentieri più belli che ricordi di aver percorso è sicuramente l’anello dello Zatta.
Scendendo dalla cresta, lungo la via del ritorno, si guarda verso Occidente e, in una giornata come quella in cui ero stato, si vedevano molto bene le cime innevate delle Alpi (qui in foto credo siano quelle Marittime).

Per vedere in maniera dettagliata il sentiero che ho percorso vi invito ad andare su wikiloc.com.

La sommità del massiccio del monte Zatta è costituita da una lunga cresta ondulata, percorsa da un agevole sentiero di crinale, ai margini esterni di tale cresta si trovano il monte Zatta di Ponente (m 1355) e il monte Prato Pinello (m 1390). Tra le due estremità si eleva la cima principale, il monte Zatta di Levante (m 1404). Il versante Sud è ripido e pietroso, mentre quello Nord, verso il passo del Bocco, ha una pendenza più dolce ed è ricoperto da un’ampia faggeta.

Quando ci sono le giuste condizioni climatiche è facile, anche dalla nostra Sestri Levante, vedere le Alpi Marittime.
Qualche giorno fa questo è quello che si poteva scorgere, ovviamente con un po’ di teleobiettivo, anche dalla passeggiata a mare lungo la Baia delle Favole!
