The Arch of Vittorio Emanuele I in Finalborgo. Through the streets of Finalborgo, the splendid hamlet of the municipality of Finale Ligure in the Savona area. The beauty of this village is the colours of the houses that use all the shades of red and yellow. This is a beautiful arch taken from the back that overlooks the main square of the village.

Vittorio Emanuele I of Savoy, known as the Tenacious (Turin, 24 July 1759 – Moncalieri, 10 January 1824), was King of Sardinia, Prince of Piedmont, Duke of Savoy and Aosta from 1802 to 1821. After the restoration, in July 1814, on the model of the French Gendarmerie, he established in Turin the Royal Carabinieri Corps from which the modern Carabinieri Corps, the fourth Italian armed force, derives. The arch in Piazza della Vittoria in Genoa. A few months ago now, I took some photos of the Arch of Victory located in the square of the same name in Genoa. One of the most famous monuments of the Superba, certainly in the largest square in the city. If you look carefully, between the columns of the arch, you can see in the distance the three caravels drawn on the terraces at the end of the square.

The Arch of Victory, also known as the Monument to the Fallen or the Arch of the Fallen, is an imposing triumphal arch, built during the fascist regime, located in Piazza della Vittoria in Genoa. It is dedicated to the Genoese who fell during the First World War and was inaugurated on May 31, 1931. Continue and learn more on Wikipedia

The alley of via Bighetti in the historic center of Chiavari. The street parallel to the straight alley of Chiavari also has some very beautiful porticos and perhaps even older and more particular. They are lower in height and darker but at the same time have a more lived-in appearance.

The ancient toponym of Moneglia (ad Monilia) appears in the Tavola Peutingeriana, a copy of the military map of the Roman Empire (11th – 12th century) preserved in the Austrian National Library in Vienna, discovered by the antiquarian of Augsburg, Corrado Peutinger, in the sixteenth century.

I took dozens of photos in the beautiful western town, click here to see them all:
The town was developed in the Finalese hinterland, not directly on the sea to be more protected against possible Saracen landings on the coast, in an easily defensible place: the confluence of the Aquila torrent with the Pora torrent, whose riverbeds form a single natural moat, later reinforced by the city walls, which defended the town on the east-south-west sides, while the northern side of the town was naturally protected by the spur of the Becchignolo hill.

Alley of Via Bighetti in Chiavari Chiavari is not just Caruggio Dritto but, on the contrary, many of the most beautiful and original views are in the two streets parallel to it. One is via Rivarola (let's say towards the sea) and the other is via Bighetti. Here you can see, in addition to the column in dark stone, I think slate, also the arch in the same material and, in the foreground, the typical tiles that, if you notice, cover many of the sidewalks here in Liguria. I read somewhere, if I remember correctly, that this geometrically decorated tile is actually called chiavarina because the factory that produced (produced) them was in Chiavari.
Of course if someone could suggest (or correct) something more they can do it by adding a comment.

A glimpse of Verezzi, the famous Ligurian village. After a long time that I had promised myself to visit some town of Western Liguria, some time ago I finally managed to organize a Sunday. In addition to Finale Ligure, with friends, we went to see the small village of Verezzi (which together with Borgio create the famous town); its narrow streets, closed between the stone houses and the sea a short distance away. Now I understand why many consider it one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

I took several photos in the village and if you want to see them all click here:
The municipal territory is made up of the two hamlets of Borgio (municipal seat) and Verezzi and the Verezzi nuclei of Crosa, Piazza, Poggio and Roccaro for a territorial surface of 2.73 km². It borders to the north with the municipalities of Tovo San Giacomo and Finale Ligure, to the south with the Ligurian Sea, to the west with Pietra Ligure, to the east with Finale Ligure.
