The houses on Ponte Vecchio in Florence
Ponte Vecchio is probably the most famous historic bridge in the world and it is also famous because there are houses built on top of it (and because the Vasari Corridor also passes above the houses).
This is one of the many views of the bridge portrayed from Lungarno.

The Ponte Vecchio is a bridge that crosses the Arno River in Florence, approximately 150 metres downstream from the area where the river naturally has one of the narrowest points within the city, in its stretch upstream from the Cascine.

Il portico sotto al corridoio vasariano a Firenze.
Quando si visita Firenze e ponte Vecchio non può non cadere l’occhio su questo portico che corre per una decina di metri tra il ponte e gli Uffizi.
Questo portico non è altro che il sostegno al famoso e misterioso corridoio vasariano, una specie di passaggio segreto fatto costruire da Cosimo Primo dei Medici.

Il Corridoio Vasariano fu realizzato in soli 5 mesi per volere dell’allora duca Cosimo I de’ Medici nel 1565 dall’architetto Giorgio Vasari, che già aveva realizzato l’attuale Galleria degli Uffizi. L’opera fu commissionata in concomitanza del matrimonio tra il figlio del granduca, Francesco, e l’arciduchessa d’Austria Giovanna d’Austria.

Ponte Vecchio visto dal Lungarno degli Archibusieri

Ponte Vecchio a Firenze visto dal Lungarno degli Archibusieri.
Quando si vuol fotografare il famosissimo Ponte Vecchio, uno dei simboli di Firenze, di solito si costeggia il fiume Arno e si cerca il punto migliore.
In questo caso io mi sono spostato alla fine di quello che viene chiamato il Lungarno degli Archibusieri (quel piccolo portico sulla destra) che dal ponte arriva quasi al piazzale degli Uffizi.
Le tre arcate del ponte meritano forse poche righe, tanto è già famoso e conosciuto.

La bella Firenze e le sue meraviglie viste dall’alto

La bella Firenze e le sue meraviglie viste dall’alto.
Un weekend speso a Firenze, ad inizio ottobre ma con temperature estive è impareggiabile.
Non ho scattato molte foto questa volta (anche perché se ne trovano a vagonate nella rete) ma ovviamente non potevo esimermi dal pubblicarne qualcuna realizzada dallo splendido Piazzale Michelangelo, il punto panoramico più famoso della città.
Nei prossimi giorni ne inserirò altre.

Piazzale Michelangelo a Firenze rappresenta il più famoso punto di osservazione del panorama cittadino, riprodotto in innumerevoli cartoline e meta obbligata dei turisti in visita alla città.
Fu realizzato dal 1869 su disegno dell’architetto Giuseppe Poggi su una collina appena a sud del centro storico, a completamento dei lavori di riqualificazione della riva sinistra dell’Arno.
