The facade of a colorful house in Burano.
From my last trip to Burano (almost three years ago now) I found this photo again that I hadn't published yet.
A splendid yellow house with blue shutters.
It looks like a cartoon!

Here is where the island is located:

Burano is a town of 2,270 inhabitants that stands on four islands in the northern Venetian lagoon. It is part of the municipality of Venice and in particular of the municipality of Venice-Murano-Burano. It is connected by a bridge to the island of Mazzorbo, which has become a sort of appendix. The town is known for its typical brightly colored houses and for the centuries-old artisan needlework of Burano lace.

Gavitelli e scoglietti in Baia del Silenzio.
Quando riprendi o fotografi il paesaggio, anche quello a cui tu sei più familiare, a seconda dei punti di vista ai tuoi occhi si può aprire un mondo nuovo.
Come queste foto che ho scattato con il mio drone in Baia del Silenzio esattamente partendo da quel punto che da giovani chiamavamo Canala.
Si possono vedere i gavitelli, essendo ormai novembre, privi di imbarcazioni e gli scoglietti che affiorano sul mare. I colori dell’acqua parlano da soli!

The colorful houses in Pelourinho in Salvador, Brazil.
Seen from the outside, the houses in this famous neighborhood in the Brazilian city of Salvador de Bahia, seem a bit run down. By outside I mean from the sea, let's say from the back.
However, there are some restored and well-kept even from the less seen side, such as this one colored in blue, very beautiful!

In the immediate vicinity is the Terreiro de Jesus square, where the cathedral, the University, the church of San Pedro, the church of the Third Dominican Order and, in an adjacent square, the church and convent of San Francisco, one of the most significant baroque churches in the whole of Brazil, overlook.

Spiagge da sogno: Cu Lao Cham in Vietnam.
Anche in Vietnam si trovano spiagge incredibilmente belle e pulite.
Nelle isole Cham, una ventina di chilometri al largo della famosa cittadina di Hoi An, si trovano delle spiagge incredibilmente belle.
In molti luoghi del Vietnam le spiagge ci sono ma l’acqua non è mai pulita e trasparente; io credo che dipenda dal clima che rende i fiumi molto verdi e torbidi andando poi a finire nel mare.
Qui, essendo molto lontani dalle coste continentali l’acqua era cristallina come da titolo: spiagge da sogno!

Chiesa greca a Pireo

Chiesa greca a Pireo.
Non so dirvi il nome di questa chiesa greca ortodossa che fa bella mostra di se nei dintorni del porto del Pireo in Grecia.
Come da tradizionali colori ellenici il contrasto tra il bianco della facciata con l’azzurro turchese delle cupole.

Zucchero filato, un classico per bambini e non.
Alzi la mano chi non lo rimangerebbe ora un bel batuffolo di zucchero filato.
Questo, azzurro, era alle giostre di Sestri Levante.

Lo zucchero filato è un prodotto dolciario, composto da una particolare forma, simile a una nuvola, dello zucchero, ottenuto attraverso una macchina che lo scioglie e lo trasforma in fili sottilissimi che si avvolgono intorno a un bastoncino o a un cono fino a formare la soffice forma. Il sapore varia in base al tipo di zucchero utilizzato. Lo zucchero filato ha origini incerte, sembra essere nato in Europa nel XVIII secolo.

Mare blu in Liguria

Mare blu in Liguria.
Tutti (me compreso) abbiamo idea che per trovare acqua cristallina e mare blu dobbiamo andare in qualche paese esotico o lontano dalla Liguria.
Con questa foto, scattata un paio di giorni fa dalla Mandrella (e ritrae la costa che da Punta Manara va a Riva Trigoso), vi mostro un angolo di Liguria che può battersela con altre foto di spiagge da sogno che vi ho gia postato.
Che ne dite?

Dream beaches: Lido Pizzo, Salento.
Salento again, Puglia. Another splendid beach is that of Torre del Pizzo (not far from Punta della Suina).
I don't think it's necessary to describe the beach because the photos do much more than words.

One of the main sources of income is tourism, which brings the beaches and farms of Salento to be crowded with tourists during the summer period. During the year 2011, the Salento peninsula has registered a clear upward trend, stopping at around two million arrivals, thus registering one of the highest presences in recent years, settling at around nine million presences.
