Una bella farfalla con la Baia del Silenzio sullo sfondo. Questa mattina, oggi è il 26 maggio 2018, come al solito ho fatto un salto in Baia del Silenzio (Portobello) per godermi qualche minuto di sole. Mentre ero sulla salita dei Cappuccini, cercando il punto migliore per immortalare la spiaggia, oggi veramente piena di bagnanti (sembra finalmente arrivato il caldo estivo), mi capita che in questi fiori si posi una bella farfalla. Ed è anche stata ferma diversi secondi!

Una pianta nata sopra gli scogli. Un paio di giorni fa ero in Baia del Silenzio a Sestri Levante in cerca di ispirazione per qualche scatto. Mi sono sporto dal piccolo belvedere che sta sopra al Citto bar e ho notato queste piante che crescono sul muretto di mattoni che sta sopra a quegli scogli. Mi è uscito uso scatto che mi piace molto. Ho usato anche il filtro miniatura della mia macchina fotografica per farlo un po’ più artistico.

Velelle in Baia del Silenzio on May 16, 2018. The velelle (or velette or barchette di San Pietro) are dissolving along the beach of Baia del Silenzio and, as anyone who has seen them knows, they are not doing so by leaving a nice smell. Thanks to the small storm that is lashing the Riviera these days, they are there beached on the shoreline… Luckily when the sun returns they will already be gone. For now, the photo.

Velella velella, also known as St. Peter's or St. John's boat, is a colony of hydrozoans of the Porpitidae family. It is often found in all oceans, on the shores or at most 1-2 cm deep in the water, with a preference for warm or temperate waters. Like other cnidarians (coelenterates), Velella velella is a carnivorous animal. It captures its prey, usually plankton, using its tentacles that contain toxins. These toxins, while effective against the prey, are harmless to humans, as they cannot penetrate the skin and do not cause any reaction to human skin. La Baia del Silenzio con le nuvole il 16 maggio 2018. Era un po’ di tempo che non postavo una bella foto della Baia del Silenzio (Portobello) ma complice un piccolo infortunio sono dovuto rimanere in casa in questi giorni. Non poteva certo mancare una bella foto della nostra baia più famosa a Sestri Levante. Anche se stiamo ancora aspettando che arrivi la primavera (accidenti, siamo ad un mese dall’estate) e il tempo sembra più invernale che primaverile. In più la spiaggia è piena di velette (o velelle) e non c’è nemmeno un buon profumo nell’aria.

Le due Baie il 21 aprile 2018, prove d’estate a Sestri Levante. Le due Baie di Sestri Levante oggi sembravano quelle di luglio e agosto: tanta gente (il bagno veramente lo facevano ancora in pochi) e soprattutto un tempo climatico insolitamente caldo. Come si dice? Non ci sono più le mezze stagioni??? Intanto beccatevi questi due scatti, fatti pochi minuti fa, uno in Baia del Silenzio e l’altro in Baia delle Favole. Se il bel tempo continua fino al 25 aprile e al primo maggio vi invito tutti a portare il costume!
