I'm not exactly an expert on night shots but the subject makes the task easier for me.

Probably in winter, if you are lucky enough to be in this place on a nice day, there is no more beautiful place to take a short walk accompanied only by the relaxing sound of the waves that gently caress the beach of the Bay of Silence.

Last year I was at home in July and I took many photos in my Sestri Levante and, above all, in my beloved Baia del Silenzio.
Queste sono le case colorate a due passi sul mare.

After many months I decided to start using my little drone again that hadn't taken flight for too long.
And as always my favorite subject to start again is the Bay of Silence, or rather, the thin isthmus that separates the Bay of Silence from the Bay of Fables.
As the most experienced will have already understood, the photo is adjusted in the colors but I assure you that even if accentuated they were still spectacular on that morning.

Always a source of inspiration for men of letters, writers and scientists, the Bay of Silence is considered one of the most enchanting places on the Ligurian Riviera. Numerous illustrious guests stayed there: the writer Hans Christian Andersen, the composer Richard Wagner, the scientist Guglielmo Marconi, who carried out numerous experiments in Sestri in the homonymous Marconi Tower, and finally Arthur Van Schendel, a famous Dutch writer who, starting in 1921, began to spend long periods in Sestri with his family, in the majestic White House, overlooking the Bay.

The symbol of Sestri Levante: the Bay of Silence.
The symbol of my town, one of the most famous bays in my region, where the fishermen's houses (once) were built a few steps from the sea.
The pastel colors, the transparent waters and a calm (not in summer) that gave the name to this inlet: the Bay of Silence!

Il palazzo del Cutter in baia a Sestri Levante.
Uno dei posti più iconici di Sestri Levante è sicuramente la Baia del Silenzio.
Giunti di fronte a questo piccola perla della Riviera Ligure si possono spendere un paio d’ore (ovviamente se non si vuole fare il bagno in mare) rilassandosi bevendo un caffè o un aperitivo sono molti i locali che si affacciano sulla baia.
Uno di questi è il Cutter Cucca, un bar con cucina, con vista mare. Nella foto che ho scattato (dall’aktra parte della baia) potete vederne i tavolini e gli ombrelloni.

Il cutter è una barca a vela che ha solitamente una randa e almeno due fiocchi. Le origini del cutter rimangono incerte. Tra i paesi più accreditati come inventori di tale imbarcazione figurano l’Inghilterra, i Paesi Bassi, la Nuova Inghilterra ed i Caraibi, ma è probabile che ognuna di queste terre a cavallo tra il XVII ed il XVIII secolo vide varate imbarcazioni simili al cutter canonico.

Exactly one year ago I was at home and enjoying my Sestri Levante in the summer.
In the morning, during the week, the Bay of Silence is still accessible to locals… but on the weekend it becomes truly unlivable!
