The Bay of Silence in Sestri Levante seen from the drone in January 2024.
After many months I decided to start using my little drone again that hadn't taken flight for too long.
And as always my favorite subject to start again is the Bay of Silence, or rather, the thin isthmus that separates the Bay of Silence from the Bay of Fables.
As the most experienced will have already understood, the photo is adjusted in the colors but I assure you that even if accentuated they were still spectacular on that morning.

Always a source of inspiration for men of letters, writers and scientists, the Bay of Silence is considered one of the most enchanting places on the Ligurian Riviera. Numerous illustrious guests stayed there: the writer Hans Christian Andersen, the composer Richard Wagner, the scientist Guglielmo Marconi, who carried out numerous experiments in Sestri in the homonymous Marconi Tower, and finally Arthur Van Schendel, a famous Dutch writer who, starting in 1921, began to spend long periods in Sestri with his family, in the majestic White House, overlooking the Bay.

The Baia delle Favole in Sestri Levante one afternoon in March.
One of the two bays of my town (the other is the Baia del Silenzio) photographed last March at sunset.
Perhaps not everyone knows that the name Baia delle Favle was given by the late Enzo Tortora during the Campanile Sera broadcast aired right from the Ligurian town.

A sunset in Baia delle Favole in Sestri Levante.
Some time ago now I took these beautiful photos of the sun setting seen from the promenade of Sestri Levante.
With the sun slowly disappearing behind Mount Portofino while the sunbeds and umbrellas are slowly closed for the night.

Quando un paio di anni fa mi sono sposato ho scelto di fare la festa nel punto, che credo essere, il più panoramico di Sestri Levante: la terrazza dell’Hotel Vis a Vis.
Da lì infatti si ha una vista incomparabile sulla Penisola sestrese e sulle due baie (la Baia del Silenzio e la Baia delle Favole) della mmia cittadina.

I really like night photos but I admit that I'm not that good at taking them.
First of all because I never have a tripod, and I always have to rest the camera on some object and then because I never have the patience to try and try again until I find the best settings.
Walking in the Baia delle Favole in Sestri Levante, one summer evening, I tried to take a couple of photos.

The Baia delle Favole in Sestri Levante during the summer.
In the summer, I took the photos last July, the two bays of Sestri are filled with tourists and bathers.
If one of the two is smaller (and entry in recent years has been limited to a maximum number of people) the other is just over a kilometer long and offers free beaches, equipped free beaches and even private bathrooms.
You are spoiled for choice!

The largest bay, called Baia delle Favole, owes its name to Enzo Tortora, an unforgettable television presenter who gave it this name during an episode of Campanile Sera, broadcast from Sestri Levante towards the end of the 1950s.

Probabilmente è il punto più bello da cui godersi la mia cittadina; si può andare per un aperitivo, per una cena oppure (come ho fatto io) per sposarcisi!

Le case sull’istmo che unisce Sestri alla sua Penisola.
Questo sottile istmo racchiude molta della bellezza della mia cittadina.
Divide la Baia del Silenzio da quella delle Favole. Le case, in primo piano, hanno la bellezza raccolta della da un lato (Baia del Silenzio) e quella ampia ed infinita (del Golfo del Tigullio) dal lato opposto.
