The view of the city of Genoa. The view of the center of Zena is always spectacular. This photo, taken unfortunately I no longer know from which viewpoint almost at sunset, I like it a lot.

The view of all of Florence from Piazzale Michelangelo. There is no better place to see (and photograph) the splendid city of Florence than Piazzale Michelangelo. From here you can see almost everything: the Duomo of Santa Maria del Fiore, Palazzo Vecchio, the Basilica of Santa Croce di Firenze and Ponte Vecchio.

Piazzale Michelangelo in Florence is the most famous observation point of the city panorama, reproduced in countless postcards and an obligatory destination for tourists visiting the city. It was built in 1869 based on a design by the architect Giuseppe Poggi on a hill just south of the historic center, to complete the redevelopment work on the left bank of the Arno.

The D’Albertis Castle is a historic residence in Genoa, home to the Museum of World Cultures and the Museum of Peoples’ Music. Built in 1886 on an ancient bastion of the 14th-century Walls by sea captain Enrico Alberto D’Albertis, the castle is today one of the most appreciated house-museums in the Ligurian capital.

Continue and learn more on Wikipedia

The dome of the Basilica of San Siro in Genoa. Genoa is truly a splendid city to photograph both by walking in the center and strolling along the many streets of the hilly neighborhoods. In this shot, taken from one of the many viewpoints of Corso Firenze, you can see (in addition to the roofs of the many houses in the historic center) the dome of one of the oldest churches in Genoa: San Siro.

The Basilica of San Siro, one of the oldest churches in Genoa, Liguria, is a Catholic place of worship located in the street of the same name, in the Maddalena district. Built according to tradition in the 4th century, it was initially dedicated to the Twelve Apostles; the holy bishop Siro was buried there and it became the first cathedral of Genoa. Matteotti square from the Villa Rocca park in Chiavari. One of the most classic views of Piazza Matteotti, one of the main ones in Chiavari, is from the belvedere that leads to the Villa Rocca park. Unfortunately I didn't have a telephoto lens with me but only a wide angle so the quality suffered slightly. I think it was a nice shot anyway!

The view from the Montaldo viewpoint in Genoa. Some time ago now I was, for the first time, in the Castelletto neighborhood in Genoa. One of the most beautiful points of the neighborhood is its viewpoint from which you can enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the city. On that day, even though there was a lot of fog, I also took some photos with very beautiful colors at sunset.

The view of the Sasso Barisano in Matera. This city in Basilicata certainly has a unique, almost magical charm. This is the view of the Sasso Barisano (one of the Matera districts) that can be enjoyed from the Belvedere Luigi Guerricchio and in the background the Basilica Pontificia Cattedrale di Maria Santissima della Bruna e Sant’Eustachio, the city's cathedral.

I took a lot of photos in the streets of the town, click here to see them all:
The Sasso Barisano, facing northwest on the edge of the cliff, if we take the Civita, the hub of the old city, as a reference, is the richest in sculpted portals and friezes that hide its underground heart. The Sasso Caveoso, which instead faces south, located in a wider and shorter blade, vaguely takes on the shape of a theater cavea. In the center is the Civita, a rocky spur that separates the two Sassi, on whose summit are the Cathedral and the noble palaces. Together they form the ancient urban nucleus of Matera, declared a cultural landscape by UNESCO. Continue and learn more on Wikipedia

The Sassi of Matera in Basilicata. How much history you can breathe when you arrive in the narrow streets of the City of Sassi, Matera. I was able to visit it thanks to the cruise excursion I took with my girlfriend a few weeks ago. Truly such a beautiful place that I could not imagine. These houses, built one on top of the other, are nothing more than the external part of real caves dug into the mountain. This is the view you can enjoy from one of the most famous terraces: the Belvedere Luigi Guerricchio from which you can see the Sasso Barisano.

The origins of Matera are very remote and this is evidenced by the discovery in the surrounding area of some settlements without interruption since the Paleolithic age. In fact, in the caves scattered along the Gravine materane several objects dating back to that era have been found, testifying to the presence of groups of hunters.
