The view of the village of Thira on the Greek island of Santorini.
Another photo from my visit, by ship, to the island of Santorini, in Greece.
This is the village of Thira and can be reached from the sea either by a steep cable car or by a winding pedestrian road famous for the donkeys that can be rented for the climb.

The Centocroci Pass (Sentu Cruxe in Ligurian) is a mountain pass located at an altitude of 1055 metres above sea level that separates the Val di Vara from Emilia, opening onto the ridge a few kilometres north-west of Mount Gottero, in the Ligurian Apennines.

The interior of the Church of San Pietro in Banchi in Genoa.
I have passed through Piazza Banchi several times and have already photographed the church from the outside several times (and if I am not mistaken there are at least two posts with the church and the square).
The last time I passed by the door and the gate were open and, for the first time, I managed to enter and I was impressed by this little church, small but very well-kept and with a truly predominant white color in the interior.
As you can see in the altar, in the apse and in the ceiling.

The church of San Pietro in Banchi in its current structure dates back to the end of the sixteenth century, when it was built, starting from a project from 1572, on the site where centuries before there had already been a religious building, destroyed at the end of the fourteenth century during the factional struggles between the Guelphs and Ghibellines.

Un vicoletto di Ostuni.
Uno dei vicoli caratteristici della cittadina di Ostuni, la Città Bianca in Puglia.
Strade strette, scale, porte di casa, persiane: tutto questo è lo spettacolo che migliaia di turisti vedono visitando questo splendido borgo che nulla ha da invidiare ad altre cittadine bianche come Mykonos o Ibiza.
Ormai è diverso tempo che ho scattato questa immagine ma mi piace tenerne sempre qualcuna carina da pubblicare nei tempi di “magra”.

The most peculiar feature of the historic center, which so fascinated tourists, was the whitewashing of the houses up to the roofs. The use, attested since the Middle Ages, derives, in addition to the easy availability of lime as a raw material, from the need to ensure the narrow streets and narrow spaces of medieval layout greater brightness, given by both direct and reflected light.

A glimpse of Ostuni, the White City.
If I hadn't written in the title where we are, perhaps you wouldn't have been able to tell me in which village I took this photo, because on the site there are many other images of white streets in Greek or Spanish cities (in particular Mykonos and Ibiza).
Well, to tell the truth in Italy there aren't many famous for their whitewashed walls and streets, and perhaps you would have immediately understood that it is a glimpse of Ostuni, the white city in Puglia, near Brindisi.

Il bianco della calce utilizzata come colore sulle pareti contrasta in maniera spettacolare con il blu dei particolare di questo scorcio della città pugliese.
Sembra di vedere una via greca (a dire la verità non siamo poi così lontani), non vi sembra?

Il ghiaccio formatosi col vento.
Quando un paio di settimane fa sono stato anch’io, come molti liguri, a fare due passi e due foto sulla neve sono rimasto molto impressionato dal ghiaccio e dalla neve che grazie al lavoro del vento si è solidificata con questa forma particolare.

The snow-covered Lame lake at sunset

The snow-covered Lame lake at sunset.
A couple of weeks ago I was with friends in Santo Stefano d’Aveto and, on the way back, we also stopped at the splendid Lame lake.
This small lake, one of the few Ligurian glacial lakes (that is, dug out and formed by an ancient small glacier), is truly splendid with snow; if you then add the colours of the sunset…

Lago delle Lame is one of the few glacial lakes in Liguria. It is located in the highest area of the Ligurian Apennines, near another small group of glacial lakes: the Agoraie lakes (included in the Agoraie di sopra and Moggetto nature reserve).

The snow-covered Lame Lake

The snow-covered Lame lake.
This splendid little lake, a few kilometres from Rezzoaglio, is very beautiful when it snows.
I took a lot of photos a few days ago and I am slowly publishing the most beautiful ones.
The contrast of the white snow with the green of the trees and the water is spectacular!

The bridge over the Petronio at Riva Trigoso

The bridge over the Petronio in Riva Trigoso.
This splendid modern bridge, inaugurated on Saturday 8 April 2017, is now part of the urban furniture of Riva Trigoso, the beautiful hamlet to the east of Sestri Levante.
A single-span work in steel and wood.
Spectacular to photograph for its shapes!
